Adolf Hitler vs Kim Jong Ill Weapon Preview

Okay, we're now into my famous people section of my current season, and it's perhaps the most politically incorrect fight I've ever done. Right below are the weapons that two of history's worst dead dictators, Adolf Hitler & Kim Jong Ill, will use against each other.

Adolf Hitler Weapons
Walther P38 Pistol: First appearing in 1938, the Walther P38 was manufactured to arm citizens of the Third Reich, and replace the venerable Luger & Mauser pistols. In particular the Luger is a good pistol, but sometimes the construction of the pistol can make it difficult to undo a jam, as well as a host of small problems. Although it fought side by side with the Luger & Mauser, the Walther did not replace them. However, that doesn't mean that it wasn't a bad pistol. For starters, the Walther was cheaper to produce, and was shorter length wise. The Walther also had the advantage of having a exposed hammer, which made ejected a jammed round easier to do.

MP40 Submachine Gun: Before the MP40 (and it's predecessor, the MP38), submachine guns were manufactured with metal parts, and a wooden stock. The MP18, MP28, and MP35 were all very sturdy and reliable guns, and they rarely if ever had a problem. With the MP40 (and the MP38), there were some major changes, both good & bad. For starters, the MP38 & MP40 were made completely out of steel, which made these cheaper to make. Secondly, both guns had folding stocks, which meant that the gun could switch from compact or not in a instant. However, these submachine guns also came with a host of problems, including jamming if the user used the magazine as a grip, and the stock was relatively week when it was used in hand to hand combat.

MP44 Assault Rifle: Without this gun, the assault rifle class of firearms would never exist. Even the term "Assault Rifle" has a legend. Supposidely, the term came about by Hitler himself. When he first caught wind of the weapon, he had an intense dislike for it. However, after he saw it in action, he had a change of heart. Even with his change in opinion, he didn't like the appearance of the gun. So, he and the Nazi Propaganda machine came up with the name Strumgewehr, or "Storm Rifle" to offset the appearance. The rest, whether real or imagined, is history.

German Stick Grenade: More properly known as the Model 24 Grenade, this explosive was one of the most recognizable infantry weapons of the 20th century. First introduced in 1915, the Model 24 got the nickname "Stick Grenade" because of the wooden handle attached to the explosive device. Filled with good-old fashioned TNT, the grenade was carried in wooden crates to avoid exploding by accident. When thrown, the 5-second fuse burned down, and the explosion sent shrapnel and heat into anyone within the blast.

Kim Jong Ill Weapons
Makarov Pistol: Arriving in 1949, the Makarov Pistol replaced the Nagant 1895 Revolver & Tokarev TT-33 Pistol as the standard sidearm for the Russian police and military. The pistol was a very compact and light weapon, coming in at just 730 grams. With an effective range of 50 meters, it was quite accurate. The Makarov also had a clip size of 8 rounds, although certain models could be equipped with 10-round or 12-round clips.

Mini-Uzi Submachine Gun: A weapon commonly found in the hands of terrorists and bodyguards alike. The Mini-Uzi is a more recent gun, having been developed from the original Uzi in 1982 and 1983. The Mini-Uzi is just that, a smaller version of the Uzi. Because of it's smaller size, the Mini-Uzi has a much higher rate of fire than it's parent firearm. The Mini-Uzi has a side-folding stock instead of a stock folding out from the back, and it's smaller size makes it much more concealable.

Type 68 AKM Assault Rifle: Directly descended from the legendary AK-47, the Type 68 AKM Assault rifle is the primary weapon of North Korea. The M in the gun's name means modernized, and distances itself from the older AK-47. The Type 68 AKM has better receivers, better parts, and a variety of other features that make it a more superior gun than it's progenator

RGD-5 Grenade: If the AK-47 is Russia's most plentiful assault rifle, then the RGD-5 Grenade is Russia's most plentiful explosive. Designed back in 1950, the RGD-5 was brought into service in the Russian Army in 1954. Today, the grenade is still being used by many of the Arab states and former allies of the Soviet Union. The grenade itself is filled with 110 grams of TNT, a very famous explosive substance. With a fuse length of 3.2 to 4 seconds, the RGD-5 explodes quickly, sending shrapnel up to 15 to 20 meters, killing anything in it's explosive radius.

Korean Soldiers vs Streltsy

Beginning Analysis: What happens when warriors from one of the most powerful Korean empires take on one of Russia's most infamous military forces? Read on to see who...is...deadliest!?

Korean Soldiers Quick Bio
Taken From Wikipedia: "Joseon, was a Korean state founded by Taejo Yi Seong-gye that lasted for approximately five centuries. It was founded in the aftermath of the overthrow of the Goryeo at what is today the city of Kaesong. Early on, Korea was retitled and the capital was relocated to modern-day Seoul. The kingdom's northernmost borders were expanded to the natural boundaries at the Amnok and Duman rivers through the subjugation of the Jurchens. Joseon was the last dynasty of Korean history and the longest-ruling Confucian dynasty.
During its reign, Joseon consolidated its absolute rule over Korea, encouraged the entrenchment of Korean Confucian ideals and doctrines in Korean society, imported and adapted Chinese culture, and saw the height of classical Korean culture, trade, science, literature, and technology. However, the dynasty was severely weakened during the late 16th and early 17th centuries, when invasions by the neighboring Japan and Qing nearly overran the peninsula, leading to an increasingly harsh isolationist policy for which the country became known as the Hermit Kingdom. After invasions from Manchuria, Joseon experienced a nearly 200-year period of peace.

However, whatever power the kingdom recovered during its isolation further waned as the 18th century came to a close, and faced with internal strife, power struggles, international pressure and rebellions at home, the Joseon Dynasty declined rapidly in the late 19th century.

The Joseon's rule has left a substantial legacy on the modern face of Korea; much of modern Korean etiquette, cultural norms, societal attitudes towards current issues, and even the modern Korean language and its dialects stem from the traditional thought patterns that originated from this period."

Streltsy Quick Bio

The Streltsy (shooters) were some of the toughest soldiers to have come out of Russia. First formed by Ivan the Terrible sometime between 1545 to 1550, the Streltsy were Russian guardsman that served the country from the 16th century to the early 18th centuries. What made these soldiers unique was that they were equipped with the latest of blackpowder firearms of that time, and this gave them an edge often armies that didn't have guns. Unfortunately for the Streltsy, their elite status was not meant to last. While in the 16th century, those that joined the group were free tradespeople, and those from rural areas, but as time went on, their status was lowered as service in the Streltsy became lifelong and hereditary.

Streltsy Weapons
Short Range: Sablia
Medium Range: Bardiche
Long Range: Pischal
Armor: Riveted Chainmail & Cloth Overcoat

Who Got The Edge
Ye Do vs Sablia: Both swords get the edge. The Ye Do is a very nimble blade. It's relatively thin, has a decent length, and can pierce through both of the Streltsy's layers of armor. Unfortunately, it can't slash through the chainmail, but it can slash through the cloth overcoat. As for the Sablia, it's curved nature gives weight to the sword when swung, and has a high percentage chance to slice off limbs. Like the Ye Do, it can pierce the Korean's scaled armor, but it can't slash through it.
Jangchang vs Bardiche: The Bardiche gets the edge. It may be heavier and take more energy to use than the Jangchang, but it inflicts far more traumatic damage, and has some versatility to it (it can hack, slash, and do some piercing damage, while the Jangchang can only do piercing damage, and maybe some bludgeoning damage with the handle portion).
Hwatcha vs Pischal: Both blackpowerder weapons get the edge. The Hwatcha has unparalleled firepower compared to the Pischal. With the lighting of the fuse, 100 rocket arrows will fly out of the holster, and land in a tight-ish area, guaranteeing numerous kills. However, the Hwatcha isn't necessarily accurate (sometimes the spread of the rocket arrows can be much wider than anticipated), and it takes a while to reload 100 rocket arrows. With the Pischal, you have accuracy on your side, and a much lighter weapon to carry around. Also like the Hwatcha, the Pischal does take some time to reload, but not as long (at least 34 seconds). On top of that, if even a little bit of moisture gets into the gunpowder, then the Pischal is useless.
Korean Scaled Armor vs Riveted Chainmail & Cloth Overcoat: The Streltsy's armor gets the edge. The Korean's armor can protect a wearer quite well, but it is only one layer of armor. The Streltsy has essentially two layers of armor, and while it may be more weight for the wearer, it gives him twice the protection, and can keep him warm in the brutal Russian winters.

Common Quality
Blackpowder Pioneers: Both of these warriors were pioneers in the invention & use of blackpowder firearms. The Koreans never really had access to blackpowder, since it's formula & creation process was tightly controlled by the Chinese at the time. So, instead of trying to steal it, the Koreans simply went on their own way and made their own. Over the years, the Koreans further developed their own brand of blackpowder, until they finally had a stable formula, and developed weapons like the Hwatcha. The Streltsy were much more ahead on blackpowder technology. They took various designs from other cultures, and improved upon them in an effort to create deadlier weaponry

Setup
It was a damp afternoon in the hills of Korea. The clouds were grey and numerous, and there was little sign of the sun & it's warmth. The mood was made more ominous by the sound of thunder in the distance, as the boom echoed all over the place. Within the hills, Li-Shan, the commander of a small group of Joseon soldiers, were training in the damp terrain. It was a rather bad day to train, since the weather dampened their spirits. Yet, with Li-Shan's encouragement, the soldiers pushed on with their training. They needed it, because today they were going to be in for the fight of their lives.

As they were continuing with their training, Li-Shan was looking out at the dirt road that lead up to the hills for signs of activity. Perhaps it was just his eyes, but he thought he saw something coming up the road. Taking the telescope from his belt, he looked through to see who was coming to disturb them. Shen, one of Li-Shan's subordinates, came over to see what was going on. "What is it?", asked Shen.

"Streltsy." Li-Shan replied grimly. "Shen, get the rest of the men ready."

Shen nodded. He went over to the troops, and told them to get ready for a battle. Two of them pushed the Hwatcha they had over to Li-Shan, who finished putting it into position. Meanwhile, the other Joseon soldier gathered a bunch of Ye Do's, and handed them out to the rest of the men, except for Li-Shan, who already had one, and himself, because he was already holding a Jangchang.

Li-Shan finally put the Hwatcha into place. He looked through the telescope again, and saw that the Streltsy were in a perfect spot. Shen gave his commander a torch, and Li-Shan touched the tip of the Hwatcha's fuse to the burning flame, and the fuse ignited. It quickly burnt down, all the way to the 100 Singijeon the weapon carried. A second later, the rocket arrows flew out of the Hwatcha as swiftly as a hawk. They flew right down onto the Streltsy, and they soundly got pelted. Only problem was that there was a good cloud of smoke coming from the Singijeon.

"Li-Shan, did we hit anything?" asked Shen excitedly.

Li-Shan waited until the smoke cleared, then handed Shen his telescope. Shen looked through the device, and saw that two of the Streltsy were pelted with dozens of Singijeon. The other three Streltsy, however, were missing from the scene.

Korean Soldiers: 5/Streltsy: 3

Shen handed the telescope back to Li-Shan, and informed him of the results. "Two Streltsy were killed. Three of them are missing."

A grim look came over Li-Shan's face. "Alright, here's our new plan." spoke Li-Shan. "We'll precede down the hill, and examine our kills. From there we'll..."

Before he could finish, a loud chorus of bangs overcame them. To his left, Li-Shan could see one of his soldier's fall backwards onto the damp ground with a hole right where his heart should be. He looked quickly to his right, and saw that Shen was already on the ground, and had a hole right between his eyes. You could see right through the skull, and out the back.

Korean Soldiers: 3/Streltsy: 3

Li-Shan looked down the hill, and saw the three remaining Streltsy beginning to reload their guns. Without a second thought, he ordered his remaining men to charge right down the hill to attack the Russian soldiers, while he stayed on top of the hill to wait until it was time for him to arrive.

The Joseon soldiers charged right down the hill, letting out fierce warcries. One of the Streltsy had almost loaded their gun, when the Jangchang went straight through his heart. The Streltsy began to bleed out of his mouth, as his body tumbled down the hill.

Korean Soldiers: 3/Streltsy: 2

The soldier let out a quick laugh, but he had no time to react, as a nearby Streltsy brought down a Bardiche on his head. The blow split the skull in half, and the body twiched for a few seconds, then quickly flopped to the ground in a sickening heap.

Korean Soldiers: 2/Streltsy: 2

The Streltsy went to work on the other Joseon soldier. He swung the Bardiche at the soldier, but he was too quick for him. The soldier had his Ye Do drawn, and was busy swiping at the Streltsy's armor. He was cutting right through the coat, but the chainmail underneath wasn't giving sway to his blows. As the Streltsy took a wide swing, the soldier saw an opportunity for a brutal strike, and took it. When the Streltsy was catching his breath, the Joseon soldier thrusted his Ye Do right into the back of the Streltsy's neck, immediately severing the spinal cord. The Streltsy died before he hit the ground.

Korean Soldiers: 2/Streltsy: 1

When the body fell down, the Joseon soldier saw Li-Shan signaling him to come back up the hill. He tried to get up, but the last Streltsy came up right behind him, and his Sablia went straight through the back, and into the soldier's heart. His eyes quickly rolled back into his head, as the Streltsy pulled his sword out, and tossing the body to the side.

Korean Soldiers: 1/Streltsy: 1

At this point, Li-Shan had to act. He was the last soldier alive, and he didn't want to go back to his superiors in failure. He drew his ornate Ye Do, and ran down the hill screaming. The Streltsy was actually a little scared by the sight, and even panicked for a second. As Li-Shan was running towards him, the Streltsy looked around for something to take him out instantly. As luck would have it, a Pischal was lying right next to one of his comrades. Li-Shan was still a good ways away, so he had time to light the match for the gun. His target was withing distance, and after a pull of the trigger, he didn't have to worry about Li-Shan anymore.

Korean Soldiers: 0/Streltsy: 1

Streltsy: 622
Sablia: 200
Bardiche: 122
Pischal: 300

Korean Soldiers: 378
Ye Do: 100
Jangchang: 78
Hwatcha: 200

Ending Assessment: The Streltsy had the advantage in this battle. They had the better blackpowder technology, the better armor, and the fiercer approach to combat.
Strongest Weapon: With an armor shattering 300 kills, the Streltsy's Pischal takes the strongest weapon spot in this fight.
Weakest Weapon: Despite being of an impressive length, the Jangchang brought in only 78 kills, making it the weakest weapon of this fight.

Korean Soldiers vs Streltsy Weapon Preview

Well folks, we're nearly halfway through with my current season. We've had some fun fights so far, but there's more fun fights to read! With that said, here's a preview for fight number 6, where mighty Korean Soldiers take on one of Russia's most infamous military forces, the Streltsy.

*
For the purpose of the Korean Soldiers, I'll be using soldiers from the early Joseon Dynasty, and as for the Streltsy, I'll be using them from the time of Ivan the Terrible.

Korean Soldiers Weapons
Ye Do: Asian countries always seemed to have a signature sword. China had the Jian, Japan had the Katana, and Korea had the Ye Do. The Ye Do had things in common with their neighbors: the blade was about as long as the Jian (3 to 3 1/2 feet), and the blade had a elegant edge and construction similar to the Katana, yet the Ye Do is it's own weapon. The scabbard always seems to be a tiny bit longer than the sword, with many of them going along with the blade in terms of curvature. When the Ye Do is pulled out, it is a single smooth movement, which also connects it to the Katana.

http://www.arscives.com/bladesign/images/3-korean-swords.jpg

Jangchang: Many Korean weapons are connected to martial arts, and the Jangchang is one of them. It is a rather long weapon, as it measure in at 4 meters. The majority of those meters was the wooden shaft, which was typically made from yew wood, but oak and chestnut could also be used. The tip of the Jangchang was a deadly spike of steel. While the Jangchang was deadly up close, it had the advantage of not being throw-able due to it's length.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jangchang

Hwatcha: Imagine this weapon as a Nest of Bees hopped up on steroids. First developed in 1409, the Hwatcha was created as a result of Korea's research in gunpowder, which was still under tight control of the Chinese. The construction of the Hwatcha was rather simple: the lower half of the weapon was a combination of cart/table, and the upper half was a rectangle filled with small holes. Each tube was loaded with a single fire arrow rocket (known as a Singijeon), and up to 100 holes were on the weapon. Each of the rockets were connected to a single fuse, and they all flew out of the holes when the fuse burnt down to the explosive package. The arrows impacted an area almost like a giant shotgun blast, and high casualties were often found in the aftermath.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hwatcha

Korean Scaled Armor: Many of the Asian countries had a variety of armor, but Korea was one of the few countries that tended to stick to one type of armor with numerous subtypes. Korea stuck with scaled armor, which is made from metal scales (iron or steel) sewn onto leather. Korea scaled armor was designed with the concept of protection, and to allowed the wearer to perform fast attacks, fighting on the ground, and striking upward (which was the opposite of Chinese armor, which was designed to strike downward).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_armour

Streltsy Weapons
Sablia: Sabres are a common type of sword, found in many countries all over the world. They first appeared in the eastern part of Europe in the 6th century, due perhaps to the swords carried by the Mongols that invaded. In Russia, their sabre, the Sablia, came about through centuries of weapon evolution. Measuring in at 32 inches, the Sablia is a one-handed sabre that was primarily a slashing weapon. The Sablia was also good at thrusting, and was even more devastating if the user was riding on horseback.

http://deadliestwarrior.wikia.com/wiki/Sablia

Bardiche: This weapon became very popular in the hands of the Streltsy, who wielded it during guard duty or during the heat of battle. Rarely measuring above 5 feet long, the Bardiche's signature fixture was the giant axe head. Because of it's size, the Bardiche was used in a chopping manner, but because the top of the axe head had a wickedly sharp point, it could be used in a limited manner as a spear.

http://deadliestwarrior.wikia.com/wiki/Bardiche

Pischal: If the Arquebus was one of the first matchlock guns, then the Pischal was one of the improvements. The two had some things in common: they both required a fuse, and they both utilized more modernized gunpowder. However, that's where the two firearms are different. For starters, the Pischal had a larger flashpan, which allowed for a easy, fast reload. The Pischal also had a front sight on it, which allowed for more accurate shots than the Arquebus, which didn't have a sight.

http://deadliestwarrior.wikia.com/wiki/Pischal

Riveted Chainmail & Cloth Overcoat: The Streltsy were known for being some of the most heavily armored warriors in history. Despite the fact that firearms were starting to take center stage more often on the battlefield, armor of any type was still welcome to protect it's wearer. At the time, chainmail was still a cheap piece of protection, and also managed to protect the body. In Russia however, the weather was often unbearably cold, and having metal near your skin could sap the heat from your body. To make up for this, a cloth overcoat was placed over the chainmail to keep the wearer's warmth from leaving him. It didn't always work, but even if a little heat was kept inside the body, then all the better.

Maasai Warrior vs Inca Warrior

Beginning Analysis: What happens when a warrior from one of Africa's most recognizable tribes takes on a fighter from one of South America's most iconic civilizations. Read on to see who...is...deadliest!?

Maasai Warrior Quick Bio

Taken from Wikipedia: "The Maasai (sometimes spelled "Masai" or "Masaai") are a Nilotic ethnic group of semi-nomadic people located in Kenya and northern Tanzania. They are among the best known of African ethnic groups, due to their distinctive customs and dress and residence near the many game parks of East Africa. They speak Maa (ol Maa),a member of the Nilo-Saharan language family that is related to Dinka and Nuer, and are also educated in the official languages of Kenya and Tanzania: Swahili and English. The Maasai population has reported as numbering 840,000 in Kenya in the 2009 census, compared to 377,000 in 1989 and 400,000 in 2000.

The Tanzanian and Kenyan governments have instituted programs to encourage the Maasai to abandon their traditional semi-nomadic lifestyle, but the people have continued their age-old customs. Recently, Oxfam has claimed that the lifestyle of the Maasai should be embraced as a response to climate change because of their ability to farm in deserts and scrublands. Many Maasai tribes throughout Tanzania and Kenya welcome visits to their village to experience their culture, traditions, and lifestyle."

Inca Warrior Quick Bio

Taken from Wikipedia: " The Inca Empire, or Inka Empire (Quechua: Tawantinsuyu), was the largest empire in pre-Columbian America. The administrative, political and military center of the empire was located in Cusco in modern-day Peru. The Inca civilization arose from the highlands of Peru sometime in the early 13th century.

From 1438 to 1533, the Incas used a variety of methods, from conquest to peaceful assimilation, to incorporate a large portion of western South America, centered on the Andean mountain ranges, including, besides Peru, large parts of modern Ecuador, western and south central Bolivia, northwest Argentina, north and central Chile, and southern Colombia into a state comparable to the historical empires of Eurasia.

The official language of the empire was Quechua, although hundreds of local languages and dialects of Quechua were spoken. The Inca referred to their empire as Tawantinsuyu, which can be translated as The Four Regions or The Four United Provinces.

There were many local forms of worship, most of them concerning local sacred "Huacas", but the Inca leadership encouraged the worship of Inti—the sun god—and imposed its sovereignty above other cults such as that of Pachamama. The Incas considered their King, the Sapa Inca, to be the "child of the sun.""

Inca Warrior Weapons
Short Range: Inca Axe
Medium Range: Inca Bola
Long Range: Inca Bow & Arrow
Special: Inca Mace
Shield: Inca Shield

Who Got The Edge
Maasai Warrior Knife vs Inca Axe: The Maasai Warrior Knife gets the edge. The axe of the Inca's can bludgeoning and hack, but it has a shorter length than that of the warrior knife used by the Maasai. On top of that, the Maasai's knife blade is made out of iron, while the axe was made out of bronze.
Maasai Spear vs Inca Bola: The Maasai Spear gets the edge. The bola can kill, but only if it goes for the head. If it lands anywhere else, it'll simply trip the target or break a bone. With the spear, you'll get a kill instantly when you hit your target.
Maasai Bow & Arrow vs Inca Bow & Arrow: Both bows get the edge. Both were made out of simple materials, and fired arrows that were also made out of simple materials.
Maasai War Club vs Inca Mace: The Inca's mace gets the edge. Although it's made of bronze, it has greater durability than the wooden war club used by the Maasai. On top of that, the chance that it will kill somebody if it hits the head is greater with a bronze head than a wooden head.
Maasai War Shield vs Inca Shield: The Inca's shield gets the edge. The Inca's used better materials (wood, hide, and basic metals), while the Maasai used weaker materials (hide or wicker). On top of that, it's simply more durable than the Maasai's shield.

Common Quality
Traditional: Both of these warriors come from cultures with rich traditions. The Maasai, despite being pressured by the Kenyan & Tanzanian governments to modernize, continue to follow their native ways. They're semi-nomadic, tend to their cattle herds, and still practice their warrior skills. With the Incas, they come from a civilization steeped in religious traditions. Their whole life revolves around their deities, and everything they do strengthens their gods.

Setup
It was a dry afternoon in Kenya. The sun was high in the sky, and it's rays were beaming down onto the brown grass. There were hardly any animals around, save for some small birds fluttering from tree to tree. Along a winding dirt road, there was some unexpected activity coming up the path. Zakimba, the herdmaster of the local Maasai group, was bringing his people' cattle back from the watering hole for a much needed drink. There was no trouble going down to the watering hole, there was no trouble at the watering hole, and there was no trouble coming back from the watering hole...yet.

Zakimba was about halfway back to his village, when two arrows came wizzing from the right, and landing into one of the cows. The beast fell onto it's side, and started mooing in pain. Zakimba quickly reached for his bow, and readied a barbed arrow to shoot back. Everything was quiet, except for the wounded cow. Zakimba was still looking around, when another arrow landed right in front of him. Zakimba began looking again for his attacker, when he saw some bushes in front of him shake. That must be where my attacker his, Zakimba thought to himself. He shot the barbed arrow into the bushes, and the shaking stopped. Smiling, he ran over to see who was so brazen to ambush him, and hopefully he was still alive to answer questions.

Zakimba reached the bushes, but there was nothing behind them, nor was there anything inside the bushes. He looked around for his target, when he felt something wrap around his feet. Before he could see what was causing this, he fell right onto the ground, and broke his bow in the process. When he turned onto his back, he saw a warrior dressed in bright colors charging towards him. As the warrior was charging him, Zakimba was cutting the ropes at his feet with his knife. When the warrior reached him, Zakimba was back on his feet, clutching his knife in his right hand, and brandishing his war shield on his left arm. The fight could begin properly!

As they were circling each other, Zakimba's opponent was equipping his own shield, and drew a shining axe. Zakimba though it was a variation of the axe that the Zulu's of South Africa used, but it's size and colors changed his mind. He had little time to think about the matter, because his opponent was flying right at him with his axe held high. Zakimba thrust his spear forward to stop his opponent, only to have his opponent stick his shield right in front of him. The blade was stuck right into the wood, and the two were having a small tug of war match to determine who kept what. After a half-minute, Zakimba unfortunately had his spear stolen from him, but it was still stuck in the shield of his opponent. His foe pulled the weapon out, and tossed it to the ground. Zakimba ran forward to pick the spear back up, only to have his foe taking a swipe at his back. The pain was immense, but Zakimba barely flinched.

Zakimba only had one weapon now: his war club. He didn't use it often, as he wasn't satisfied with the way it slayed opponent, but he had little choice at this point. If he didn't do something, they he would surely die.

Zakimba reluctantly drew his war club. Meanwhile, his opponent tosses his shield aside, and drew a club of his own. The star pattern of it's head was quite fearsome, but Zakimba wasn't intimidated. He kept an eye on his opponent, while he kept another eye on his spear. The two combatants then began getting in up close, and just started to beat each other savagely. Zakimba luckily smacked the axe out of his opponent's hand, and watched as it got stuck in a nearby tree. They went back to bashing each other with their clubs, and after 5 minutes, their bodies were starting to suffer damage. Zakimba swore that a rib of his was broken, yet his body was pumping so much adrenaline, he didn't feel it. Finally, he took a swipe at his opponent head, who tumbled to the ground. He quickly ran over to pick up his spear, and came back over to his opponent's flailing body. With a stab right through the back, he wasn't flailing around any more.

Maasai Warrior: 615
Maasai Warrior Knife: 150
Maasai Spear: 200
Maasai Bow & Arrow: 250
Maasai War Club: 15

Inca Warrior: 385
Inca Axe: 80
Inca Bola: 5
Inca Bow & Arrow: 200
Inca Mace: 100

Ending Assessment:
Strongest Weapon: With 250 body-piercing kills, the Maasai's bow & arrow takes the strongest weapon spot of this fight.
Weakest Weapon: With only 5 kills, the Inca's bola gets the weakest weapon spot in this fight

After getting my first ancient warrior matchup was completed, I'm finally back in the swing of things. With that said, here's a preview of fight number 5, where the ancient Maasai Warrior battles the equally ancient Inca Warrior.

Maasai Warrior Weapons
Maasai Warrior Knife: It would not necessarily be fair to call this weapon a knife. If anything, it looks more like a cross between a machete and a short sword. Regardless, this is perhaps one of the most sacred weapons in the Maasai tribe, as it is used in many of their rituals. The grip is made of wood, and wrapped in red leather, while the blade is made from a solid piece of metal (most likely Iron) that measure in at 1 1/2 feet long.

http://www.blackmalaika.com/wp-content/uploads/Maasai_Warrier_Knife_01.jpg

Maasai Spear: If the warrior knife was a sacred weapon in battle, then the spear was it's companion. Not only was the spear a implement of war, it was also a tool in protecting their herds from lion & other hostile animals. The spear is much longer than the knife, as it usually measured in a 4 to 5 feet long, excluding the half-foot blade. Maasai warriors tended to keep the spear in their hands, although it's entirely possible that it could be thrown at someone.

Maasai Bow & Arrow: Yet another weapon that's useful for both warfare and something else. In this case, the bow has battle & hunting uses. Made out of African hardwood, the bow typically was 4 to 5 feet long, much like the spear. The arrows the Maasai fired from their bow were almost always metal, and shaped in a flat design with points that easily puncture a target's body.

Maasai War Club: Use more for killing predators than people, the war club of the Maasai is still a deadly implement. Unlike the previous weapons, the war club is more basic in design & material. It has a lot in common with the Zulu Iwisa: It's made from a solid piece of African hardwood, complete with a rounded knob (sometimes it included a small point, sometimes it didn't). The club could be used up close, or it could be thrown. Either way, it would kill something.

Maasai War Shield: Although the Maasai used wood in their tools & weapons, they typically used lighter materials when it came to their shields. Usually made from colorful wicker or leather, the shield was design to be a light defense against projectiles and small melee weapon. The shield was sometimes used to frighten enemies, as the pattern on the shield was usually of an intimidating nature.

Inca Warrior Weapons
Inca Axe: Although many of the Central American and South American civilizations did not have access to higher grade materials, the Incas were one of the very few to have acquired metal for their weapons. Their axe, for example, was typically made out of solid bronze. Although the axe head was sharpened, the weight of the bronze meant that it also bludgeoned as well as hack.

http://www.forensicfashion.com/files/1471IncaWarriorAxeMuseoAmerica01.JPG

Inca Bola: Although not a killing tool in and of itself, the bola was still a useful tool. It was constructed rather simply: a cord was made from plant or animal hide, a rock (or rocks) was smoothed and cut, and the cord was tied around the cut area so it could grip the rock. To use the weapon, Incas typically swung the bola overhead, and released when they twirled it around enough. Although it could kill if it hit the head, it could also be used on someone's legs, especially if that target was to be taken as a sacrifice.

Inca Bow & Arrow: Like many of the Central American & South American civilizations, the Incas prize archery. Made out of wood from the native trees, the bow was very light to carry over long trips. The arrow tips were almost always stone (typically obsidian), although if they had enough of it, they used bronze for arrow tips when they could.

Inca Mace: The mace: for those who love to reach out and smack someone right upside the head. It's interesting to note that the head of the mace used by the Incas was shaped into a star pattern, with the flanges extended and slightly edged. Because of the bronze used in the mace it, it gives it more durability than a mace head made out of stone.

Inca Shield: Unlike the Maasai, who used simpler materials in their shields, the Incans tended to use stronger materials in their shields. Composed of a single piece of wood, the shield was covered with buckskin, and sometimes had bronze or brass studs on the front. The shield would also have religious decoration on it, and said decorations would given the warrior spiritual strength while intimidating the enemy.

Mohawk Indian vs Samoan Warrior

Beginning Analysis: What happens when a tribesman from the Northeastern United States fights a islander from the Pacific? Read on to see who...is...deadliest!?

Mohawk Indian Quick Bio
Taken from Wikipedia: "Mohawk (borrowed from the Narraganset 'mohowaùuck', 'they eat (animate) things,' hence 'man-eaters') are the most easterly tribe of the Iroquois confederation. They call themselves Kanien'gehaga, people of the place of the flint. Kanien'kehá:ka ("People of the Place of Flint") are an Iroquoian-speaking indigenous people of North America originally from the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York. Their territory ranged to present-day southern Quebec and eastern Ontario. Their current settlements include areas around Lake Ontario and the St Lawrence River in Canada. Their traditional homeland stretched southward of the Mohawk River, eastward to the Green Mountains of Vermont, westward to the border with the Oneida Nation traditional homeland territory, and northward to the St Lawrence River. As original members of the Iroquois League, or Haudenosaunee, the Mohawk were known as the "Keepers of the Eastern Door". For hundreds of years, they guarded the Iroquois Confederation against invasion from that direction by tribes from the New England and lower New York areas."

Mohawk Indian Weapons
Short Range: Mohawk Knife
Medium Range: Pipe Tomahawk
Long Range: Mohawk Bow & Arrow
Special: War Club

Samoan Warrior Quick Bio
Taken from Wikipedia: "Although the Samoan Natives (Tagata Mao'i) have long claimed to be the indigenous people of their islands, holding firm to the belief that Samoans were birthed by special creation in Samoa, it has been theorized by many linguists and anthropologists, based on linguistic commonalities as well as archaeological findings, that migrants from Southeast Asia arrived in the Samoan Islands approximately 3500 years ago, settling in what has come to be known as "Polynesia" further to the east. This approximation is based on the so-called "Lapita" pottery that has been dated to that time; it is possible, as the natives suggest, however, that the Samoan Islands were in fact settled some time prior to 1000 BC and that the original settlement actually predates the arrival of those to whom the pottery was culturally relevant. Furthermore, the Samoans have developed a language, culture, and social practice most divergent from the other ethnic groups associated with the Lapita pottery and the term "Austronesia"."

Samoan Warrior Weapons
Short Range: Fa'alaufa'l War Club
Medium Range: Samoan Throwing Spear
Long Range: Samoan Bow & Arrow
Special: Olo Moe

What Got The Edge
Mohawk Knife vs Fa'alaufa'l: The Mohawk Knife gets the edge. The Fa'Alaufa'l is a brutal weapon, but the Mohawk's blade is lighter & faster, and the Mohawk can throw it as well as slash and stab with it. On top of that, the Mohawk can carry numerous knives, while the Samoan will probably carry just one or two Fa'alaufa'l.
Pipe Tomahawk vs Samoan Throwing Spear: The Pipe Tomahawk gets the edge. The throwing spear used by the Samoans is very deadly, and can even kill someone with a precise throw, but the weapon is longer and takes up more space. With the Pipe Tomahawk, the user can get up close with it, throw it, and even smoke out of it. A very useful multi-tasker, if you ask me.
Mohawk Bow & Arrow vs Samoan Bow & Arrow: Both of these bows get the edge. They're made out of good wood, are nice & light, and fired arrows that tended to have the same materials in their tips (bone, stone, metal, etc).
War Club vs Olo Moe: The Olo Moe gets the edge. Much like the first part of this list, the War Club is deadly up close, but the Olo Moe can bludgeon as well as be thrown a distance. Luckily, both warriors carried just one of each club.

Common Quality
Ferocity: Both of these warriors are some of the fiercest in existence. As it states above, the Mohawk's name translated means "man eaters", which fits with their fierce approach to combat. When they come across an enemy, they make sure that enemy and everyone around him is dead. With the Samoan Warrior, he comes from a culture that has had millennium of combat experience & tradition. Despite having weapons made out of inferior materials, a Samoan Warrior makes up in strength and a fierce reputation.

Setup
It was a peaceful afternoon on the Canadian coast. Although the sky was cloudy, there was a calm breeze floating around. Jingachgook, a warrior from a nearby camp of Mohawk Indians, had been scouting the area for any sign of potential enemies. Having not seen any for a while, Jingachgook sat down underneath a large oak tree for a needed break. He took out his Pipe Tomahawk, filled the cap with tobacco, lit it, and took a smoke. Jingachgook enjoyed smoking from this Tomahawk, as it was given to him by his father, who received it from his grandfather. He continued to smoke from the tomahawk, all the while thinking of happier times.

He kept on smoking the Pipe Tomahawk, until he heard a few branches break to his far left. He immediately put out the burning tobacco, and prepped the weapon for battle. He look to see if anyone was there, and at first he thought it was a particularly large deer. Unfortunately, it wasn't a deer.

Instead of a woodland deer, Jingachgook saw a large person wandering around, holding a savage bow. He had tattoos covering the left half of his face and chest, as well as having his hair tied up in a small ponytail, and was wearing a brightly colored loincloth covered with a white flower pattern. Jingachgook didn't recognize him as a member of a tribe that lived in the area. This foe must be from some new tribe, Jingachgook thought to himself. He placed the Pipe Tomahawk back into it's belt holder, and took the bow off of his back. He reached into his quiver, and pulled out a barbed stone arrow. He knocked it onto the bowstring, and pointed it right at the oncoming warrior's leg. He fired the arrow, and was certain that it would land it's target, but the warrior heard the bowstring twang, and jumped aside. Jingachgook cursed himself, then came under attack by the warrior's own bow, who was letting loose a small volley of arrows. One of the incoming arrows shot Jingachgook's bow out of his hands, and sent it off the nearby clip. Jingachgook, angered by the loss of a sacred weapon, drew one of his knives, and waited until the warrior stopped firing arrows. Jingachgook caught the warrior offguard, and threw his knife. The blade landed in the warrior's shoulder, and let out a savage howl of pain. He ran off to pull the knife out of his shoulder, and Jingachgook followed him.

Jingachgook arrived at where his foe was firing arrows from, but didn't spot him. It was then that he noticed a trail of blood drops on the ground. They were small, but the crimson dots stood out among the browns and greys of the forest floor. Jingachgook fixed his eyes on the blood drops, and followed the crimson trail.

The trail of blood led Jingachgook deeper into the forest, and into a small clearing. Jingachgook finally arrived at the end of the blood train, and saw the knife he threw at the warrior earlier. He looked for any sign of him, but he didn't spot his foe. Just then, a jagged spear landed in the tree to Jingachgook's right. Jingachgook looked up, and saw another spear land right in from of him. Jingachgook saw that his opponent was hiding in the bushes in front of him. Jingachgook went right for him, and his opponent came towards him, holding two savage clubs. Jingachgook drew his own War Club, and took out another knife.

The two started each other down for a moment, then began fighting. The warrior was a fast opponent, but Jingachgook was just as fast. The warrior shoved Jingachgook back some distance, and when things looked right, he threw his shorter club right at his Mohawk opponent. Seeing the club flying towards him, Jingachgook stood back up from the attacked, and knocked the club out of the sky. The warrior was frightened by the attack, and began running away. This angered Jingachgook, who has an intense hatred of cowards. Before he was out of range, Jingachgook threw the knife at his retreating opponent, and the blade landed right in the back. The warrior fell to the ground, as he was stunned by the pain.

Jingachgook walked over to the warrior's body as he was still trying to crawl away. He turned the body over, and smacked him upside the face with his War Club. The body finally stopped moving, but that wasn't enough. He took his tomahawk out, and began slicing at the warrior's scalp. After a few seconds, Jingachgook lifted up a gruesome trophy, and let out a howling victory cry. He had defeated a opponent, and now he could get back to smoking.

Mohawk Indian: 622
Mohawk Knife: 150
Pipe Tomahawk: 250
Mohawk Bow & Arrow: 200
War Club: 22

Samoan Warrior: 378
Fa'alaufa'l War Club: 39
Samoan Throwing Spear: 125
Samoan Bow & Arrow: 175
Olo Moe: 39

Ending Assessment: Although both of these warriors had no armor, and had to make their weapons out of what they could scavenge, the Mohawk had the advantage in materials, technology, and reputation.
Strongest Weapon: With a collection of scalping & throat slitting, the Mohawk's Pipe Tomahawk gets the strongest weapon spot of this fight, due to it's 250 kills.
Weakest Weapon: On the opposite end of his arsenal, the Mohawk's War Club, with it's 22 kills, takes the weakest weapon spot of this fight.

Mohawk Indian vs Samoan Warrior Weapon Preview

Sorry about the wait. I wasn't able to post anything new, cause my main computer went down the tanker. Now that it's back up, it's time to start things up again. Here's a look at the weapons used in my first ancient fight of this season, where a intimidating Mohawk Indian fights a savage Samoan Warrior.

Mohawk Indian Weapons
Mohawk Knife: When settlers first encountered the Mohawk tribe, they also encountered their vicious knife fighting skills. The knives that the Mohawks first used weren't made out of metal (until they took metal from the settlers), but of bone & stone (usually some kind of obsidian). Regardless of what the blade was made out of, it was usually 5 or 6 inches longer, which allowed it to go in and out of bodies rather quickly. Mohawk Indians also threw their knives at their targets, as they rarely missed their targets.

http://ushistoryimages.com/images/indian-weapons/fullsize/indian-weapons-2.jpg

Pipe Tomahawk: A item of peace as well as an item of war, the Pipe Tomahawk is one of the most recognizable weapons in the hands of the Mohawks. The construction of the weapon is rather simple: a hallowed stick with a cap at the end, a sharpened axe head, and a bowl on the other side of the axe head to place the item to be smoked. The Indian in question takes off the cap, places tobacco or something else in the bowl, lights the smoking item, and takes a puff at the cap end of the weapon. A very useful multitasker indeed.

http://www.treadwaygallery.com/onlinecat/march0407/images/large/446.jpg

Mohawk Bow & Arrow: The Mohawks were masters of the bow, as they spent years hunting prey and defending themselves from their enemies. The bow they used was a D-style bow, which allowed the user to put his strength into each of his shots. It was smaller, thus giving the user a lighter yet deadlier weapon. Mohawk Indians had also developed a variety of arrows to be used with the bow, from flint arrows that would break up inside their targets, or rusted metal arrows that would create infectious wounds.

http://puttingzone.com/graphics/IndianOtherImages/BOW45-LG.jpg

War Club: If you were up close with a Mohawk Indian, and he didn't have a knife, then he would have had this weapon. Although it never was made out of metal, that didn't mean it wasn't a deadly weapon. The club was made out of a single piece of wood, and the striking area was a polished orb. All it took was one blow to the head, and a human target would go down in an instant.

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3303/3438348426_4fbb0381bf.jpg

Samoan Warrior Weapons
Fa'alaufa'l War Club: Much like the Maori's that populated New Zealand, the weapons of the Samoan were made of wood, stone, and bones of some kind. This club in particular was especially deadly, due to it's design. The main striking area of the club was the rigid middle area, although it was possible to use the pointed end sort of like a dagger.

http://www.paradisegypsy.com/Images/SaleItems/5429_1.jpg

Samoan Throwing Spear: More commonly known as the Tala-o-le-lo, this was a weapon that was very feared among those who knew of it. Like the Mohawk's War Club, this weapon was made entirely from wood. The spear was composed of two sections: the grip, and damaging area, which was covered in sharp edges. The spear would go into a target nice and smooth, but if the thrower or the target were to try and pull it out, the spear would cause more damage because of the edges cutting up the internal organs.

http://www.nzetc.org/etexts/BucSamo/BucSamo608a.jpg

Samoan Bow & Arrow: Called a Aufana, this weapon was important during the hunt or war time. Created from fisoa wood, the Samoans had a bow that was light, yet allowed them to easily puncture targets. The bow was often decorated with a piece of the bow's braid, which was spiraled around the entire weapon. This enhanced the Aufana's appearance, and sometimes managed to intimidate anyone in front of it.

http://www.nzetc.org/tm/scholarly/tei-BucSamo-t1-body1-d9-d2-d4.html

Olo Moe: Made from Vesi wood, this was a devastating weapon in the hands of the Samoans. 18 inches in length, the Olo Moe was often used to bring back prisoners, as the club would break bones and not cause much bleeding. The club, much like the one used by the Mohawks, was a solid piece of wood, and it would fly through the air with impressive speed.

Polish GROM vs South African National Defense Force

Beginning Analysis: What happens when a spec-ops group from Eastern Europe takes on the military force of South Africa? Read on to find out who...is...deadliest!?

Polish GROM Quick Bio

When you think of Poland, you usually don't think of military power, but GROM defies usual thinking. Formed on July 8, 1990, this spec-ops group actually has it's origins in the 1970 & 80s. In that time, there were several special forces groups made, but they were either pure military or pure counter-terrorism. After the Polish Embassy in Bern was taken over in 1982, a general of the Polish Army, General Edwin Rozłubirski, proposed that a military force should be made to combat terrorism and other unconventional problems. The idea was rejected by the People's Army of Poland, but fate has a way of changing things. In 1989, two Polish diplomats were shot in Beirut who were working on helping Jews get to Israel, Lt. Col. Sławomir Petelicki went down to secure safe passage for civilians & Polish diplomatic outposts. After the return to his native country, he proposed the idea of a counter-terrorism group to the Ministry of Interior, who gladly accepted the idea.

Polish GROM Weapons
Short Range: Recon-1 Knife
Medium Range: Benelli M4 Super 90 Shotgun
Long Range: MP5 Submachine Gun
Long Range (Explosive): HK69 Grenade Launcher

South African National Defense Force Quick Bio

Formed from the ashes of the South African Defense Force in 1994, SANDF is the current military of South Africa. SANDF is made up of four groups: the South African Army, South African Air Force, South African Namy, and the South African Military Health Service. As for the soldiers themselves, they are made up of new recruits, and former members of the various guerilla groups that served the political parties during Apartheid in South Africa. By 2005, the South African military was "crumbling", but it continues to defend the country for threats within & without.

South African Defense Force Weapons
Short Range: KA-Bar Knife
Medium Range: Striker Shotgun
Long Range: BXP Submachine Gun
Long Range (Explosive): Miklor MLG Grenade Launcher

Who Got The Edge
Recon-1 vs KA-BAR: Both knifes get the edge. Watch Navy Seals vs Israeli Commandos for details
Benelli M4 Super 90 vs Striker: Both shotguns get the edge. They're both semi-auto, but the Benelli weighs less when unloaded (3.8kg compared to the Striker's unloaded weight of 4.2kg), has a longer barrel (470mm compared to the Striker's barrel length of 457mm), and has a slightly better effective range (shoots up to 55 meters, while the Striker shoots up to 50 meters), while the Striker has a higher ammo capacity (holds 12 shells, while the Benelli holds 6 shells).
MP5 vs BXP: Both submachine guns get the edge. The MP5 has a longer barrel (225mm compared to the BXP's barrel length of 208mm), but the BXP has larger clips (takes 22 & 30 round clips, while the MP5 takes 15 & 30 round clips), a higher rate of fire (1000 rounds a minute compared to the MP5's firing rate of 800 rounds a minute), and can accept a variety of enhancements (takes a variety of muzzle devices, silencers, heat shields, and grenade launchers, as well as laser aiming modules and collimating sights).
HK69 vs Milkor MLG: The Milkor MLG gets the edge. Although the HK69 weighs less when unloaded (2.76kg compared to the Milkor MLG's unloaded weight of 5.3kg), the Milkor MLG has a better firing action (fires like a multi-shot revolver, while the HK69 is a single-shot breech loader), has a greater effective range (fires up to 400m, while the HK69 fires up to 350m), and holds more explosives devices (holds 6 grenades, while the HK69 holds only 1 grenade).

Common Quality
Newer: Both of these warriors are relatively new to the world of special operations & military work. GROM has been around a little over two decades, and has been valuable in the areas of special operations and unconventional warfare. With the South African National Defense Force, they've been around for almost two decades, and are important to post-apartheid South Africa as a military force.

Setup
It was a bright, calm day off the coast of South Africa. Today was a training day for a unit of the South African National Defense Force. They would be training on an abandonded shipping tanker, to get used to occasional combat situations on board a ship. Led by Lt. Makumba, they got into a jeep, and drove out of their post to the ship. Little did they know, that today would be a training sesson they wouldn't forget.
They were driving along the coast road, when they saw the shipping vessel off in the water, not far from the beach. They also noticed two small motorboats on the beach, and immediately became suspicious and alert. When they got to the entrance of the beach, they stopped the vehicle, and got right out, ready to fight. They walked right up to the motorboats to investigate, when five soldiers appeared from the top of the ship. Makumba didn't know who they were, so he attempted to communicate with them.
"Unidentified military forces, this is Lt. Makumba of the South African National Defense Force. You are to identify yourselves at once!"
At first there was no reaction. A second later, a soldier in body armor appeared at the railing, and looked like he was going to fire at Makumba and his men at any moment. Makumba still wasn't able to identify what group the soldier was from, until he saw something shining on the soldier's shoulder. He raised his binoculars, and took at look through. He saw a silver eagle, and in it's claws was a pointed lightning bolt. Makumba then realized that the soldier belonged to GROM, Poland's premier spec-ops force.
"Hey, who the hell are you yelling at?" the soldier shouted.
Makumba lowered his binoculars. "Well, now that I know who you belong to, do you mind telling me what you're doing here?" he asked.
"This is our training vessel." said the soldier. "Today's our day to train on this vessel."
Makumba rubbed his eyes. "No, this is the property of South Africa and it's military." he said with an irritating voice. "Why don't you get your Polish ass off our ship, and perhaps we can work something out."
The GROM soldier just laughed. "I don't think so darkie." he said.
Makumba was furious by that statement. "Say that again." he growled.
"Darkie." the GROM soldier said. He waited for a second to see if Makumba would reply. In fact, Makumba did reply. He walked back to the rest of his men, and ordered them to raise their guns, and the GROM soldier slowly reached for his MP5. By the time he grabbed the gun, Makumba and his men opened fire on his position. After a minute, the rest of the GROM squad appeared, and added a little heat to the fire. One of the soldiers landed a shot on Makumba's left hand man, and his body banged up against the jeep and slid right down with a disturbing squeel.

Polish GROM: 5/South African National Defense Force: 4

Makumba ran towards his comrade's fallen body, and picked up the BXP that he was using. He loaded in a fresh magazine, and shot right back at the Polish. Some of his shots destroyed an MP5, and some of the others went through the throat of a nearby gunman. He stumbled for just a second, then fell right over the railing of the ship. His body made contact with the water, and sent up a small geyser of briny fluid.

Polish GROM: 4/South African National Defense Force: 4

The GROM soldiers continued firing for a few moment, until they retreated into the ship. Makumba's men kept firing, until their clips were completely empty. Before they reloaded, one of Makumba's men went over to speak about what they should do next.
"Lieutenant, what are your orders?" the soldier asked.
"Board the ship." Makumba replied. "We're dealing with a small squad. Calling in a larger force would be just a waste."
Makumba and his men reloaded their weapons, and grabbed one of the motorboats GROM used to get on the ship. The motorboat's engine revved up, and they sped away towards their destination. After just two minutes, they arrived at the ship, and saw the ladder that GROM used to get on the ship. Tying the motorboat to a small metal ring, Makumba and his men grabbed the ladder, and climbed up. Makumba had one soldier in front of him take point, and two soldiers behind him to take point. If there were GROM soldiers going to ambush them from behind, then they would be ready.
At last, they arrived at the top. Makumba send the man in front over the edge to scout out the area, while he and the rest of his men stayed on the ladder. After a few seconds, the soldier came back, signaling to them that the coast was clear. As the soldier was helping Makumba up, a GROM gunman was sneaking up with a HK69, and loading a round into the barrel. He spotted Makumba about to climb up over the edge, and fired off the shot. Makumba noticed the round coming at him, and dropped back down the ladder. His soldier was turning around, just as the grenade exploded at his feet. The explosion sent the body flying off the ship, and into the water's depths.

Polish GROM: 4/South African National Defense Force: 3

Makumba saw the body fly over the railing, and waved to the soldier behind him to send up the Milkor MLG they brought. As the grenade launcher was handed to him, another GROM soldier arrived to assist the other. They were firing at the ledge where Makumba and his men would appear over in an effort to scare them off. It didn't work, as Makumba raised the launcher just above his head, and fired off a shot. The round was too fast for the GROM commandos to track, and it exploded right between then. The metal shard went flying around, shredding up the soldiers, and the heat crisped their skin right up.

Polish GROM: 2/South African National Defense Force: 3

Makumba tossed the grenade launcher up, and waited to see if any GROM commandos would come to investigate the racket. After a few seconds of not hearing anything, he and the other two soldiers climbed over the ledge. When they got to the top, they were worried that the metal would collapse. The vessel was an old one, and Makumba's superior once told him that he worked on it when he was younger. It had been, despite not having anyone on it, floating in the ocean. Over time the salt water had eaten the majority of the paint off, exposing the naked metal to the briny elements. The ships sometimes looked like a burnt corpse floating around to ships in the distance. After checking their surroundings, Makumba and his men reloaded & readjusted their weapons, then huddled together to plan out their attack.
"Alright, we don't know how many more GROM are on this boat. It must be a small group, cause we've killed 3 of them."
"Then what do we do?" asked one of Makumba's men.
"First, we need a protected escape route." replied Makumba. "You stay here and keep an eye out for us and anyone that tries to come this way. Me and Zakimbe will go into the ship as see who else is here. With any luck, we'll only be in there for a few minutes, and we'll come back up."
The soldier nodded. He began a patrol of the front portion of the ship, while Makumba and Zakimbe went down into the bowels of the wreck. Just as the two disappeared from sight, The soldier went over to pick up the Milkor MLG that Makumba tossed up. As he was walking over to pick it up, he didn't hear the commando sneaking up behind. Just as the soldier slung the launcher over his shoulder, the commando stuck a knife in the base of his skull. The soldier's body flopped for a few seconds, then fell down as the commando pulled out the knife.

Polish GROM: 2/South African National Defense Force: 2

Meanwhile, Makumba and Zakimbe were wandering through the dank hallways of the ship. Luckily, there were holes throughout the hull letting in streams of sunlight, and giving them some help in seeing the inside of the ship. The wind and waves from the outside were creating some strange noises echoing throughout the entire vessel, as they gave off the illusion that the ship was haunted. Makumba and Zakimbe were made of stern stuff, and they weren't frightened by the noise.
The two rounded a corner, when they spotted one of the GROM commandos. They fired on his positon as he just noticed them. The commando layed flat again a steel wall, reloaded his MP5, and returned fire. As the gun fight was going, Makumba & Zakimbe didn't notice the other commando sneaking up on them. It was almost going to be like what happend above, but Zakimbe heard something crunch on the floor. He quickly turned around, and let off the Striker he was holding. The pellets from the shells he fired went right through the commando, shredding up his stomach and intestines.

Zakimbe let out a small chuckle as the blood from the GROM commando pooled up. However, pride was about to go before his fall, when the surviving commando shot at his back. Zakimbe's body fell, and the front of his skull cracked as it hit the floor.

Makumba ducked into the room behind him as he saw Zakimbe get killed. It wasn't dark, but there were plenty of spaces to hide in or around. Drawing his KA-BAR, he waited for the commando to come in so he could slit the bastard's throat. Sure enough, the commando came in, and Makumba jumped on him, trying to cut open his foe's skin. He got shoved off, but he still held onto his knife. He stood back up, and saw that the Commando unsheated a small blade. A Recon-1, Makumba asked himself?
The two stared at each other, then ran right towards each other. The two collided, and fell back onto the ground. Makumba was stunned for a moment, then he got up again onto his feet again. Right away, he noticed that his knife wasn't near him. He looked at the GROM commando's body, and saw that his KA-BAR was stuck in the commando's throat. "I didn't slit it, but this works just as well." Makumba said to himself.
