Manuel Noreiga vs Muammar Gadhafi Weapon Preview

Manuel Noreiga Weapons
Colt M1911 Pistol: Developed by John Browning in the early 1900s, the Colt M1911 was a remarkable weapon. Unlike the revolvers that it was going to replace, the 1911 was a semi-auto pistol capable of holding more ammunition than any revolver of it's time. When the gun was finally brought into the U.S. military, there were more than a million of them manufactured, mostly by U.S. companies, but a few were manufactured by foreign companies that got permission

M16 Assault Rifle: Due to his connections with the United States, and later with the various drug lords of South America, Noreiga acquired a variety of US weapons, including this venerable and controversial rifle. First introduced to the U.S. Army in the early years of the Vietnam War, The M16 turned out to be a piece of trash in so many ways. First off, the army had used the wrong kind of rounds, which contained enough black powder that clogged up the barrel. Secondly, the inside of the barrel didn't have chrome applied to it, which made it very easy to rust. To top all of this off, there was no cleaning kit & manual, so soldiers had no way of knowing how clean the gun. After numerous complaints and inquiries from various politicians, the M16 was improved and fixed, and has serves the US Military for over 40 years.

M60 Machine Gun: Affectionately refered to as "The Pig" because of it's habit fo picking up dirt, the M60 is still one of the most powerful machineguns out there. This weapon was first born from the T44, an experimental machinegun created by the US when it was trying to crossbreed the German FG42 & MG42. The gun was stopped in 1948 when the 7.62mm T65 cartridge was created, yet the T44 served as the foundation for the M60 that was to come. Then in 1957, the M60 was brought to the US Army's table, and has become one of it's staple machineguns ever since.

M67 Grenade: An explosive ordinance given to Noreiga when he worked with the US, the M67 Grenade is a explosive device that is used by numerous countries all over the world, replacing the M61 grenade of Vietnam era, and the venerable MKII grenade of WW2. The device is filled with Composition B, an explosive material that can be found in a variety of ordinences. When the pin is pulled and the grenade is thrown, a 4 to 5 1/2 fuse burns down, then the device explodes, sending steel shrapnel out to 15 feet. Anyone within the radius will get killed immediately.

Muammar Gadhafi Weapons
Makarov Pistol: Arriving in 1949, the Makarov Pistol replaced the Nagant 1895 Revolver & Tokarev TT-33 Pistol as the standard sidearm for the Russian police and military. The pistol was a very compact and light weapon, coming in at just 730 grams. With an effective range of 50 meters, it competes very well with other pistols in terms of firing distance. The Makarov also has an identical standard capacity of 8 rounds, although certain models could be equipped with 10-round or 12-round clips.

AK-47 Assault Rifle: If the MP44 is the father of all assault rifles, then the AK-47 is the all important child prodigy. First brought onto the battlefield way back in 1947 as a modified MKB.42 German machine carbine, the AK-47 is also one of history's most simplest guns. Composed of nothing more than stamped steel along with a wood stock and grip, the AK-47 has a track record of firepower and durability. Because of the way it's made, an AK-47 can qo up to 6 months before it has to be cleaned (unlike the early models of the M16, where it could go up to 2 to 3 weeks before it needed to be cleaned).

RPD Light Machinegun: The RPD is one of the most devastating machineguns to ever have been produced. It was first developed in 1944 during the end of WW2, the RPD became the standard automatic squad weapon of the Russian Army in the 1950s. It served the Russians faithfully until the 1960s, where the lighter RPK replaced the RPD. Many Russian commanders didn't believe that this was a good decision, yet the gun was still in army reserves, and was exported to pro-Soviet territories around the world, including China, where it was known as the Type 56 LMG.

RGD-5 Grenade: If the AK-47 is Russia's most plentiful assault rifle, then the RGD-5 Grenade is Russia's most plentiful explosive. Designed back in 1950, the RGD-5 was brought into service in the Russian Army in 1954. Today, the grenade is still being used by many of the Arab states and former allies of the Soviet Union. The grenade itself is filled with 110 grams of TNT, a very famous explosive substance. With a fuse length of 3.2 to 4 seconds, the RGD-5 explodes quickly, sending shrapnel up to 15 to 20 meters, killing anything in it's explosive radius.
