Who Got the Edge
Dao vs English Sabre: Both
swords
get
the
edge.
They're
one-handed,
and
can
easily
slice
through
an
opponent
with
a
single
strike.
3-Barrel Polegun vs Flintlock Pistol: The
3-Barrel
Polegun
gets
the
edge.
The
Flintlock
Pistol
isn't
as
expensive
or
complex
as
a
Wheel-Lock
Pistol,
but
it
doesn't
have
the
range
that
a
3-Barrel
Polegun
has.
On
top
of
that,
the
Flintlock
Pistol
only
has
one
shot,
where
as
the
Polegun
obviously
has
3
shots.
Nest of Bees vs English Musket: The
English
Musket
gets
the
edge.
Although
it's
not
necessarily
the
same
as
a
Flintlock
Musket,
see
Ming
Warriors

Musketeers
for
details.
Mechanical Landmine vs Grenade: The
Mechanical
Landmine
gets
the
edge.

Setup
It
was
a
breezy
day
in
the
port
city
of
Shanghai.
Paper
Lanters
were
swinging
on
their
posts,
cloth
doorways
were
fluttering
in
the
breeze,
and
the
smell
of
salt
permeated
the
air.
At
the
docks,
a
group
of
five
Ming
Warriors
were
busy
inspecting
two
boats
that
had
just
arrived.
One
of
which
was
a
small
fishing
vessel,
the
other
was
a
transport
ship.
While
they
looking
for
anything
suspicious,
a
strange
wind
stirred
in
the
harbor,
and
it
was
bringing
trouble.
Captain
Billings
of
the
United
Kingdom,
along
with
a
4-man
squad
of
Redcoats,
were
traveling
to
Shanghai
under
order's
to
capture
a
boat
believed
to
have
been
used
by
local
pirates.
They
suspected
that
the
local
authorities
wouldn't
completely
cooperate,
so
they
came
armed,
just
in
case
somebody
sympathetic
to
the
pirates
(or
the
pirates
themselves)
attacked.
"Okay
men,
I
want
us
to
perform
as
professionally
as
possible."
spoke
Captain
Billings.
"We
are
representative
of
the
Queen,
and
we
don't
want
to
look
like
fools."
The
other
Redcoats
that
were
in
the
boat
with
him
nodded
in
agreement.
When
they
got
closer
to
the
docks,
they
could
see
that
two
boats
had
just
arrived.
One
of
them
appeared
to
be
the
boat
that
they
suspect
were
used
by
the
pirates.
Captain
Billings
drew
his
Sabre,
and
pointed
it
at
the
docks.
"Private
Collin,
point
the
boat
that
way."
spoke
Captain
Billings.
The
private
knodded,
and
managed
the
sails
to
send
them
towards
the
docks.
The
boat
steadily
moved
towards
the
docks,
and
they
noticed
that
there
were
some
local
soldiers
lingering
around
the
boats.
Ming
Warriors,
the
captain
thought
to
himself.
Surely
they
were
there
to
arrest
any
criminals
that
were
there,
and
not
partake
in
any
criminal
activities
themselves.
When
Captain
Billings
and
his
men
got
within
distance,
they
were
immediately
greeted
by
lead
bullets
flying
towards
them.
Two
of
them
went
right
through
the
sails,
while
another
when
straight
through
the
left
eye
of
Private
Collin,
who's
body
fell
right
off
the
boat,
and
sunk
into
the
briny
water.
Ming Warriors: 5/English Redcoats: 4
"Damnit!"
Captain
Billings
growled
loudly.
"Private
Smalls,
take
a
shot
at
them
with
that
musket
of
yours!
Maybe
that'll
send
a
message."
"Yes
sir."
responded
the
private.
He
got
up
to
the
front
of
the
boat,
and
raised
his
English
Musket
until
it
was
on
target
with
one
of
the
Ming.
He
pulled
the
trigger,
and
let
loose
a
thunderous
roar.
A
few
seconds
later,
he
could
hear
a
yelp,
and
the
sound
of
water
getting
splashed
around
signaled
to
him
that
he
hit
his
target
right
on.
Ming Warriors: 4/English Redcoats: 4
"Nice
Shooting,
private."
spoke
Captain
Billings
as
he
patted
his
man
on
the
shoulder.
"Now,
lets
finish
up
what
we
came
hear
to
do."
Their
boat
finally
arrived
at
the
docks.
They
floated
right
up
to
one
of
the
moorings,
and
a
noose
was
tossed
out
so
their
boat
would
be
secured.
The
boat
finally
stopped
moving,
and
the
Redcoats
stepped
onto
the
dock.
"Okay
men,
let's
be
a
little
more
careful
now."
Captain
Billings
said
solumnly.
"We've
already
lost
a
man,
and
I
don't
want
to
lose
anymore."
The
other
Redcoats
knodded,
and
they
started
walking
into
the
market
place.
Even
with
nobody
to
peddle
goods,
the
place
seemed
lively.
One
booth
had
exotic
fruits
and
vegetables,
and
another
displayed
silk
and
colorful
clothes.
When
Captain
Billings
saw
one
of
his
men
look
at
the
fruit
stand,
eyeing
a
brightly
colored
apple.
"When
we're
done
here,
then
perhaps
we
can
take
a
trophy
or
two
home
with
us.
For
now,
let's
keep
moving."
spoke
Captain
Billings.
He
and
the
other
two
Redcoats
when
onward,
while
the
other
kept
eyeing
the
apple.
Disobeying
his
superior,
he
grabbed
the
apple,
and
put
it
in
his
pocket.
A
second
later,
and
an
explosion
rocked
the
stall,
sending
fruit
and
blood
all
over
the
street.
Ming Warriors: 4/ English Redcoats: 3
Captain
Billings
and
the
other
men
heard
the
blast.
They
ran
back
to
see
what
happend,
when
they
saw
the
sight
of
the
private:
his
body
parts
were
strewn
all
over
the
place,
yet
his
right
hand
still
gripped
the
apple
he
saw
earlier.
"Idiot."
muttered
Captain
Billings.
"Alright
men,
let...."
Before
he
could
finish
talking,
a
Ming
Warrior
jumped
out
from
behind.
He
was
holding
a
Dao
sword,
and
swirled
it
around,
trying
to
make
himself
look
intimidating.
Breathing
a
small
sigh,
Captain
Billings
drew
one
of
his
Flintlock
Muskets,
and
aimed
it
at
the
Ming
Warrior
that
was
trying
to
intimidate
him
and
the
rest
of
his
men.
With
a
single
pull
of
the
trigger,
the
Ming
Warrior
wouldn't
intimidate
anyone
ever
again.
Ming Warriors: 3/English Redcoats: 3
Captain
Billings
blew
the
smoke
that
was
coming
out
of
his
pistol,
and
put
it
back
in
it's
holster.
"That,
gentlemen,
is
how
you
defeat
the
enemy
without
losing
composure"
he
spoke.
"Now
that's
be
done,
lets
get..."
Before
he
could
blurt
out
any
sort
of
warning,
32
rocket-propelled
arrows
came
straight
at
his
two
men,
and
went
right
into
their
vital
organs.
They
each
fell
right
to
the
street,
and
bled
slowly
from
their
wounds.
Ming Warriors: 3/English Redcoats: 1
Captain
Billings
ducked
into
the
alleyway,
and
let
out
a
small
curse.
Hearing
footsteps
coming
towards
him,
he
took
the
Grenade
from
his
pocket,
and
lit
the
small
fuse
that
was
on
top.
He
peeked
out
from
the
alleyway,
tossed
the
explosive,
and
watched
it
tear
apart
the
incoming
Ming.
Ming Warriors: 2/English Redcoats: 1
Captain
Billings
got
out
from
cover,
and
saw
the
Ming's
mangled
corpse
up
against
a
small
crate.
The
sight
caused
the
captain
to
change
his
mind
about
the
mission.
To
hell
with
looking
good
or
doing
things
by
the
book,
saving
his
own
life
mattered
at
this
moment,
and
he
didn't
necessarily
mind
the
thought
of
getting
demoted
for
his
actions.
Just
as
long
as
I'm
still
alive,
Captain
Billings
thought
to
himself.
Drawing
his
Sabre
once
again,
Captain
Billings
proceeded
to
exit
the
marketplace,
when
another
Ming
Warrior
jumped
out
of
nowhere,
this
time
in
front
of
him.
This
one
was
holding
a
Dao
Sword,
much
like
the
warrior
that
he
had
shot
earlier
with
his
pistol.
No
wanting
to
waste
time,
Captain
Billings
started
swinging
at
the
Ming
with
his
sabre,
and
steel
met
steel.
Both
warriors
were
masters
with
their
blades,
but
Captain
Billings
was
the
better
man,
and
plunged
his
Sabre
into
the
Ming's
chest,
piercing
his
heart.
The
body
flopped
for
a
second,
then
fell
to
the
ground.
Ming Warriors: 1/English Redcoats: 1
Captain
Billings
took
a
small
white
cloth
from
his
pocket,
and
wiped
the
blood
off
of
his
Sabre.
Don't
want
to
have
Ming
blood
corrode
my
blade,
he
said
to
himself.
After
a
few
seconds,
the
Sabre
was
clean,
and
the
bloodied
cloth
was
tossed
to
the
side.
The
captain
sheathed
his
weapon
a
second
later,
when
a
loud
bang
went
off,
and
he
felt
a
pain
in
his
shoulder.
He
turned
around,
and
saw
one
last
Ming
Warrior,
holding
a
3-Barrel
Pole
at
him.
He
tried
to
take
a
step
forward,
but
the
Ming
quickly
fired
off
his
last
two
shots,
killing
him
in
a
matters
of
seconds.

Ending Assessment: Both
of
these
warriors
were
impressive,
but
the
unorthodox
black
powder
weapons
&
martial
arts
of
the
Ming
gave
them
an
edge
over
the
preciseness
of
the
British
Military.
Strongest
Weapon:
With
an
explosive
300
kills,
the
Mechanical
Landmine
is
the
strongest
weapon
of
this
fight.
Weakest
Weapon:
At
the
opposite
end
of
the
Ming
spectrum,
the
Nest
of
Bees,
with
it's
random
chance
of
hitting
something,
and
18
kills,
takes
the
weakest
weapon
spot.
