United States Secret Service vs Federal Protective Services of Russia Weapon Preview

United States Secret Service Weapons
Glock 19 Pistol: Small but potent, the Glock 19 is a valued member of the prestigeous Glock family. Essentialy the Glock 19 pistol is a compact variant of the Glock 17, but that doesn't mean it's isn't less deadly. Like the G17, the Glock 19 can take 10, 17, 19, and 33 round clips, and has a firing rate of 1100 to 1200 rounds a minute on full auto. The Glock 19 lives up to it's compact size, as it weighs 625 grams unloaded and is only 174mm long, making it a easily concealable firearm.

Magpul FMG-9 Submachine Gun: A experimental weapon from 2008, the Magpul FMG-9 holds the distinction for being among the new generationg of folding submachine guns. Due to being a prototype firearm, there isn't much known about it. However, what is known about the Magpul is that it was designed for personal protection groups (including the USSS), it is made out of a light-weight polymer substance rather than metal, giving it a measly weight of 1.1 pounds. The firing mechanism of the Magpul is take from the semi-auto Glock 17 pistol, but if the gun was modified with the firing mechanism of the Glock 18, it becomes a devastating full-auto weapon.

Ruger MP9 Submachine Gun: Sometimes called an "Improved Uzi", this gun deserves that name considering the prestige behind it's development. It definitely has a lot in common with the Uzi: similar material used, similar ammo capacity, etc. However, it is also very different from it's distant ancestor. The Ruger MP9 fires from a closed bolt to increase accuracy, the lower receiver is attached to the integral pistol grip (made from Zytel material), the cocking handle is on top of the gun, and the stock is redesigned to take on a telescoped form. The Ruger MP9 also has a fire selector with three options (safe, semi-auto, full-auto), and includes a separate firing pin block to increase safety.

CQC: Although the Secret Service prefers to keep their distance when protecting their charges, there are times where up close combat is required, and CQC is the style of fighting most often used. CQC (Close Quarters Combat) is a form of fighting in which a small group fights at extremely close ranges with small weapons (knives, pistol, or martial arts) in an effort to take a structure in which the defenders have a tough time escaping. CQC is especially important when hostages & civilians are on the line, as CQC requires is practioners to be quick in their attack, and to prevert said hostages & civilians from dying (or at least not getting severly hurt).

Federal Protective Services of Russia Weapons
GSh-18 Pistol: Having been around for just a little over a decade, the GSh-18 Pistol has become one of the new sidearms of the Russian Military and security forces. Although there are numerous pistol all over the world, it's curious to note that this pistol takes a primary clip size of 18 rounds (hence part of the gun's name). Although the sights aren't necessarily good (they're instead "acceptable") and the trigger pull is heavy, said trigger pull is consistent and short, and it fits easily into Makarov style holsters.

PP-93 Submachine Gun: Created in 1993 from the earlier & failed PP-90, the PP-93 is a non folding version of that gun. Due to the improved design, the PP-93 was more successful among Russian law enforcement and the various security agencies. Made mostly of stamped steel, the PP-93 is a conventional blowback operated smg, complete with a folding stock, ability to take 20 or 30-round clips, and has an impressive firing rate of 600 to 800 rounds a minute, and it still managed to be quite accurate despite the speed.

PP90M1 Submachine Gun: Sometimes a gun appears on the scene that look strange, functions strange, and feels strange, it somehow works. Despite the name, the PP90M1 is a newer gun designed by the KBP Design Bureau, with a few things taken from the early PP-19 Bizon. The PP90M1 was designed for use by Russian law enforcement, as well as security forces throughout the country (including the FSO). The two interesting things about this gun is the fact that the ammo is primarily contained in 64-round helical magazines, and that to change the clip into the gun, one must must a button right above the gun's barrel (which can be difficult to do in a intense firefight).

Systema Martial Arts: Systema is to Russia like Kung Fu is to China and the Orient. There is no clear origins on the birth of Systema, but it is clear that Systema if a purely Russian fight influenced by the styles of China. Systema training includes hand to hand combat & grappling, knife fighting, and the usage of fire arms. The hand to hand aspect of Systema involves the six levers of the body (elbows, neck, knees, waist, ankles, shoulders), pressure point and weapon applications, and striking the different areas of the body.
