JSDF vs Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards
Beginning Analysis: What happens when the modern military of Japan takes on the bodyguards of one of the world's worst dictators? Read on to see who...is...deadliest!?
JSDF Quick Bio
The
Japanese
Self-Defense
Forces,
or
JSDF
for
short,
was
formed
after
the
end
of
the
U.S.
occupation
of
WW2.
The
JSDF
is
split
into
3
separate
yet
equally
important
parts:
the
Ground
Self-Defense
Force
(Army),
Maritime
Self-Defense
Force
(Navy),
and
the
Air
Self-Defense
Force
(AIr
Force).
The
whole
JSDF
has
247,
746
soldiers
available
for
combat,
and
57,
899
soldiers
in
the
reserve.
For
most
of
the
time
after
WW2,
the
JSDF
were
confined
to
the
islands
of
Japan,
but
in
recent
years
have
been
allowed
to
go
on
several
internation
peacekeeping
missions.
Recent
tensions
with
North
Korea
have
restarted
the
debate
of
the
JSDF's
status
and
it's
relation
to
the
rest
of
Japan.
In
December
of
2010,
it
was
decided
that
the
JSDF
changed
it's
focus
from
Russia
(which
was
it's
original
target
since
the
beginning
of
the
Cold
War)
to
China.

Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards Quick Bio
While
little
is
known
about
North
Korea
or
it's
military,
even
less
is
known
about
the
bodyguards
that
guard
of
of
the
worst
living
dictators,
Kim
Jong
Ill.
What
little
is
known
about
the
bodyguards
is
detailed
next:
candidates
are
recruited
young
(generally
of
high
school
age)
and
if
they
pass
the
tests,
they
are
given
a
number
for
a
name
and
have
to
cut
ties
with
all
friends
and
family.
At
one
point
during
training,
recruits
are
required
to
wear
hazmat
gear
and
shoot
at
targets
that
resemble
monstrous,
bloodsucking
versions
of
U.S.
troops.
During
their
service,
the
bodyguards
are
required
to
shoot
anyone
that
gets
close
to
Kim
Jong
Ill,
even
if
it's
by
accident.
If
a
bodyguard
at
any
point
has
doubts
about
his
job,
then
he
is
either
beaten
severely
or
shot.

Who Got the Edge
Riot Shield vs AKM Bayonet: The
Riot
Shield
gets
the
edge.
The
bayonet
makes
for
a
good
offense,
but
it
has
to
get
past
a
2
foot
diameter
piece
of
reinforced
plastic,
and
even
if
it
can
get
into
the
shield,
it
will
more
than
likely
get
stuck.
With
the
Riot
Shield,
you
have
a
decent
defensive
item
capable
of
blocking
a
variety
of
objects
and
bullets,
and
a
item
capable
of
some
surprising
offense
if
used
properly.
Minebea M-9 vs Mini-Uzi: Both
submachine
guns
get
the
edge.
They
are
nearly
identical
in
weight
(the
M-9
weighs
2.8kg,
while
the
Mini-Uzi
weighs
2.9kg),
but
the
Mini-Uzi
can
take
a
wider
variety
of
clips
(can
accept
20,
25,
and
32-round
clips,
while
the
M-9
can
only
take
25
round
clips)
and
has
a
longer
barrel
(197mm
compared
to
the
M-9's
barrel
length
of
120mm),
while
the
M-9
has
the
higher
rate
of
fire
(1100
rounds
a
minute,
while
the
Mini-Uzi
can
only
fire
950
rounds
a
minute).
Type 89 vs Type 68 AKM: Both
assault
rifles
get
the
edge.
They
weigh
the
about
the
same
(The
Type
85
weighs
3.5kg,
while
the
Type
68
weighs
3.6kg),
but
the
Type
89
has
a
longer
barrel
(420mm
compared
to
the
Type
68's
barrel
length
of
415mm),
higher
rate
of
fire
(750
rounds
a
minute,
while
the
Type
68
fires
up
to
600
rounds
a
minute),
and
has
a
greater
firing
range
(can
fire
up
to
500m,
while
the
Type
68
can
fire
up
to
400m),
while
the
Type
68
has
the
greater
ammo
capacity
(The
Type
68
can
accept
20,
30,
and
40
round
clips,
as
well
as
the
RPK's
75-round
drum,
while
the
Type
89
can
only
take
20
or
30-round
clips).
M67 vs RGD-5: Both
grenades
gets
the
edge.
The
M67
has
a
larger
filling
weight
(180g
compared
to
the
RGD-5's
filling
weight
of
110g)
while
the
RGD-5
weighs
less
(310g
compared
to
the
M67's
weight
of
400g),
has
a
greater
effective
rage
(15-20m
compared
to
the
explosive's
rate
of
15m)
and
a
shorter
fuse
(3.2
to
4
seconds
compared
to
the
M67's
fuse
length
of
4
seconds).
Common Quality
Expert Training: Both
of
these
warriors
have
had
some
of
the
most
brutal
training
on
the
planet.
Due
to
their
defensive
nature,
JSDF
soldiers
train
in
a
variety
of
environments,
especially
urban,
forest,
snow,
sea,
air,
and
desert.
The
training
in
these
locales
creates
soldiers
who
are
highly
attuned
to
their
surroundings,
and
very
defensive
minded.
Kim
Jong
Ill's
Bodyguards
are
equally
fanatical,
but
their
training
is
a
bit
more
on
the
surreal
&
psychotic
side
of
things.
As
stated
above,
recruits
are
required
to
wear
hazmat
gear
and
shoot
at
targets
that
resemble
monstrous,
bloodsucking
versions
of
U.S.
troops.
On
top
of
that,
they
practice
martial
arts
almost
non-stop,
and
become
accustomed
with
numerous
types
of
firearms.
Setup
It
was
a
bleak
afternoon
in
Tokyo.
For
the
past
two
hours,
there
has
been
a
standoff
at
the
Mejiri
Hotel.
Although
the
news
media
wasn't
saying
much,
the
police
and
military
on
the
ground
knew
what
was
going
on.
Somehow,
the
leader
of
North
Korea,
Kim
Jong
Ill,
had
somehow
made
it
into
the
country.
What
he
was
doing
in
Japan,
no
one
knew.
When
word
got
out
that
he
was
here,
the
Japanese
government
tried
to
arrest
him
for
crimes
against
the
country.
After
a
failed
attempt
at
catching
him,
he
left
behind
five
of
his
bodyguards
to
give
him
some
time.
Now,
five
highly-trained
bodyguards
were
somehow
holding
up
the
entire
place.
However,
today
wasn't
going
to
go
so
well
for
them.
An
armored
truck
was
driving
up
along
the
side
of
the
hotel,
where
the
bodyguards
didn't
seem
to
setup
any
kind
of
traps.
The
truck
slowed
to
a
halt,
and
the
backdoor
opened
up.
5
members
of
the
JSDF,
led
by
Sgt.
Urashiri,
got
out
onto
the
ground,
and
made
their
way
to
the
kitchen
entrance.
"Alright,
here's
what
I've
been
told."
spoke
Urashiri.
"As
of
right
now,
Kim
Jong
Ill
has
managed
to
escape.
However,
he
left
behind
some
of
his
bodyguards
to
cover
for
him.
They've
been
raising
hell
inside
the
hotel,
and
the
government
thinks
there
have
been
some
innocent
people
killed.
They
called
me,
and
now
I'm
going
to
clean
up
this
mess.
With
your
help,
of
course."
The
other
JSDF
soldiers
nodded.
They
arrived
at
the
kitchen
door,
and
stacked
up
on
both
sides.
When
they
were
ready,
they
quickly
opened
the
door,
and
went
right
inside.
The
kitchen
was
rather
dark,
so
they
turned
on
their
flashlights.
Kim's
bodyguards
must
have
knocked
out
the
power
so
they'd
have
the
advantage.
As
they
crept
through
the
kitchen,
they
heard
something
at
the
front.
One
of
the
soldiers
took
point,
and
went
over
to
investigate.
He
got
to
the
front
of
the
kitchen,
when
he
accidentally
triggered
a
trip
wire.
The
wire
pulled
out
the
pin
of
a
RGD-5
grenade,
and
after
3
seconds,
it
went
off.
The
soldier
had
little
time
to
escape,
and
was
greeted
by
a
wave
of
heat
&
shrapnel.
JSDF: 4/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards: 5
Urashiri
was
coughing,
as
a
large
cloud
of
smoke.
He
waived
out
enough
of
it
to
see
his
comrade
dead
on
the
floor.
His
chest
&
face
was
torn
up
by
the
RGD-5's
shrapnel,
making
the
sight
rather
disturbing.
Urashiri
closed
his
eyes,
and
gave
his
friend
a
moment
of
silence.
One
that
was
taken
care
of,
he
and
the
rest
of
the
squad
continued
through
the
kitchen.
As
the
cloud
still
wafted
through
the
air,
two
bodyguards
came
into
the
kitchen
with
their
AKM's
raised
and
firing.
Urashiri
and
the
other
soldiers
ducked
behind
the
counter,
and
returned
fire.
Wishing
to
end
this
battle
early,
one
of
the
JSDF
soldiers
took
the
M67
Grenade
that
he
had
in
a
pocket
on
his
body
armor.
He
pulled
the
pin,
and
tossed
the
device
right
at
the
attacking
bodyguards.
In
just
4
seconds,
the
bodyguards
would
become
pincushions
to
the
shards
of
metal
flying
into
their
bodies.
JSDF: 4/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards: 3
More
smoke
filled
the
kitchen,
making
it
more
difficult
to
see
inside
the
room.
By
this
stage,
the
explosion
of
the
two
grenades
had
made
a
mess
of
things,
and
it
would
probably
take
a
few
weeks
to
clean
&
fix
up.
Despite
the
damage,
Urashiri
was
slightly
irritated
that
one
of
his
men
may
have
attracted
more
attention
that
necessary.
Hopefully,
Kim
Jong
Ill
didn't
leave
behind
any
other
bodyguards
that
they
didn't
know
about.
Urashiri
and
his
squad
finally
exited
the
kitchen,
and
arrived
in
the
main
lobby.
Luckily,
the
power
was
still
on,
and
hopefully
it
was
on
elsewhere.
It
was
rather
quiet...too
quiet,
Urashiri
thought.
The
squad
kept
on
moving,
all
the
while
keeping
their
eyes
for
any
sign
of
Kim's
protectors.
"Sergeant
,
we're
going
into
a
trap.
You
know
that
right?"
one
of
the
soldier's
asked.
"I
know."
said
Urashiri.
"In
actually,
I'm
hoping
we
caught."
Just
then,
one
of
Kim
Jong
Ill's
bodyguards
bursted
out
from
behind
the
checkin
desk.
With
his
Mini-Uzi
ready
at
the
go,
he
unleashed
a
stream
of
hot
lead
right
at
the
squad.
One
of
them
got
in
front
with
the
Riot
Shield,
and
managed
to
stop
all
of
the
bullets,
except
for
two.
They
bounced
around
for
a
bit,
then
somehow
got
behind
the
squad,
and
landed
right
in
the
head
of
the
soldier
next
to
the
shield's
left.
The
body
fell
to
the
ground,
and
trickles
of
blood
&
brain
began
to
come
out
of
the
bullet
holes.
JSDF: 3/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards: 3
Urashiri's
squad
returned
fire.
The
bodyguard
got
a
bullet
to
the
shoulder,
but
continued
to
open
fire.
Just
then,
two
other
bodyguards
bursted
out
from
the
janitor's
closet,
holding
AKM
assault
rifles.
Urashiri
and
his
two
surviving
squad
mates
ducked
behind
a
large
table,
and
returned
fire.
"I
hope
that
they're
the
last
guys
in
here!"
one
of
the
soldier
shouted.
"I'm
right
there
with
you."
Urashiri
said
while
reloading
his
Type
89.
He
rose
up
from
behind
the
table,
and
aimed
right
at
the
bodyguard
that
was
closest
to
him.
With
the
pull
of
the
trigger,
a
line
of
bullets
came
rushing
out,
and
flew
into
the
target's
chest.
As
the
body
fell
backwards,
Urashiri
swore
he
saw
the
heart
fly
out
the
back
of
the
bodyguard
he
shot.
Maybe
it
was
just
wishful
thinking.
JSDF: 3/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguard's 2
The
remaining
bodyguards
continued
to
fire
upon
Urashiri
and
his
squad.
After
a
minute,
they
retreated
through
the
back
of
the
checkin
desk.
When
they
ran,
Urashiri's
squad
ran
right
after
them.
When
they
jumped
over
the
desk,
they
stacked
up
next
to
the
door,
and
debated
as
to
who
would
go
through
first.
"Hey,
Habuki."
said
Urashiri.
"You
go
through
first."
"Me!?"
asked
Habuki
loudly.
"Why
not
Tamaki?"
The
two
of
them
looked
at
Tamaki,
who
looked
back
at
them
with
a
surprised
looked
on
his
face.
After
letting
out
a
sigh
of
frustration,
he
opened
the
door,
and
entered
a
small
office.
He
slowly
crept
through,
making
sure
that
he
didn't
step
or
trip
on
anything.
Big
mistake.
JSDF: 2/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards: 2
Urashiri
and
Habuki
felt
the
explosion.
After
readjusting
themselves,
they
rushed
into
the
office,
and
saw
Tamaki's
body
lying
on
the
ground.
There
was
so
much
shrapnel
in
his
face,
it
made
it
almost
unidentifiable.
"Serg
eant,
there's
one
good
thing
about
this."
said
Habuki.
Urashiri
rubbed
his
eyes.
"What?"
he
asked
with
a
slightly
irritated
voice.
"We're
still
alive."
Habuki
replied.
There
was
silence
for
a
moment,
until
Urashiri
broke
it.
"Huh,
I
guess
you're
right."
he
said.
The
two
soldiers
stepped
over
the
body
of
their
fallen
comrade,
and
headed
out
the
door.
After
some
wandering
through
the
hallways,
they
arrived
at
the
loading
docks
of
the
hotel.
They
could
see
the
flashing
lights
of
the
police
cars
reflecting
off
of
a
nearby
mirror,
and
they
thought
they
heard
a
few
more
cars
show
up.
In
any
case,
they
continued
to
keep
an
eye
out
for
any
sign
of
the
other
bodyguards
that
may
be
lurking
around.
Just
then,
the
bodyguard
that
they
wounded
earlier
popped
up
from
a
crate,
and
started
firing
off
his
Mini-Uzi.
Urashiri
ducked
out
of
the
way,
while
Habuki
was
left
to
unfortunately
catch
all
of
the
bullets.
He
was
still
standing
for
a
second,
but
fell
off
of
the
docks
and
onto
the
pavement
with
a
thud.
JSDF: 1/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards: 2
Urashiri
jumped
out
from
his
cover,
and
fired
back.
The
bodyguard
tried
to
climb
out
of
the
box
to
avoid
getting
shot,
but
it
wasn't
a
good
idea.
3
bullets
went
right
through
his
spine,
killing
him
instantly.
JSDF: 1/Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards: 1
Urashiri
was
breathing
heavily.
The
bodyguard's
corpse
was
leeking
blood
from
the
bullet
holes,
and
that
somehow
gave
him
an
idea.
A
sick,
twisted,
and
devious
idea.
Meanwhile,
at
the
same
time,
the
last
surviving
bodyguard
was
wandering
through
the
hotel
where
the
JSDF
and
the
rest
of
the
bodyguards
fought.
He
saw
the
bodies
of
both
his
enemies
and
comrades
mangled,
shotup,
and
riddles
with
bullet
holes
or
shrapnel.
He
was
rather
cautious,
as
he
saw
the
bodies
of
3
JSDF
soldiers,
not
5.
Finally,
he
made
his
way
to
the
loading
dock,
and
saw
another
body
of
the
JSDF
dead
on
the
pavement.
He
then
spotted
another
one
of
his
bodyguard
allies.
He
was
on
the
ground,
and
bleeding
like
a
stuffed
pig.
As
the
bodyguard
walked
over,
he
was
curious
as
to
why
he
had
been
where
he
was,
considering
it
looked
like
he
must
have
been
hiding
in
one
of
the
crates.
The
bodyguard
began
examining
the
body,
and
it
looked
like
nothing
was
out
of
the
ordinary.
When
he
flipped
it
over,
he
uncovered
a
explosive
surprise.
Attached
to
the
bodyguard's
body
was
a
M67
grenade.
In
just
a
few
seconds,
he
would
be
covered
in
shrapnel
&
explosive
material,
just
like
the
rest
of
the
bodyguards.
