Jesse James vs John Dillinger

Beginning Analysis: What happens when one of the wild west's most accurate marksman takes on one of the most dangerous criminals of the 1930s? Read on to see who...is...deadliest!?

Jesse James
Short Range: Bowie Knife
Medium Range: Double-Barrel Shotgun
Long Range: Colt Revolver
Special: Lasso

John Dillinger
Short Range: Stiletto Knife
Medium Range: Model 1887 Shotgun
Long Range: Tommygun
Special: Baseball Bat

Who Got the Edge
Bowie Knife vs Stiletto Knife: The Stiletto gets the edge. See Jesse James vs Al Capone for details
Double-Barrel Shotgun vs Model 1887 Shotgun: Both shotguns get the edge. See Wild West Texas Rangers vs WW2 French Resistance for details.
Colt Revolver vs Tommygun: The Tommygun gets the edge. See Jesse James vs Al Capone for details.
Lasso vs Baseball Bat: The Lasso gets the edge. While it won't kill outright unless you get a particularly lucky throw around the neck, the Lasso's biggest strength is that it has a much larger reach than the Baseball Bat.

Setup
It was high noon at the Sideview Saloon. Jesse James and some of his boys were just sitting down for a well-deserved drink. Earlier in the day, they were in some kind of wild west museum, where they saw all sorts of artifacts & paintings, both familiar and strange. As they were wandering though, a couple guys in suits walked into the place, holding guns that Jesse and his boys hadn't seen before. After a gun & knife fight through the whole museum, Jesse and one of his guys managed to get out alive, leaving the suits to rot inside the museum.
The whiskey in their glasses was a reward to what was perhaps on of their most harrowing encounters. Jesse, grabbing the bottle and his glass, stood up from his bar, and faced 4 of his most loyal men, and gave a small speech.
"Boys, we've done it. Not only did we manage to grab some decent cash, we even took out some friggen suits. Now nobody can mess with us. A toast to you, for doing well, and for staying alive!"
The rest of the cowboys shouted out in agreement, and drank their whiskey. They slammed their shot glasses back down on the bar table, when they heard a very familiar sound coming towards the bar. Thinking it was just the whiskey they drank, Jesse and his boys kept on drinking. After an extra drink, Jesse heard the sound coming closer towards them. Then, all of a sudden, the noise stopped right in front of the saloon. One of Jesse's boys got off of his stool, and stumbled towards the front door. He looked out into the street, and was greeted by a facefull of lead.

Jesse and the rest of his men jumped behind the bar, pulling out their Colts, and taking the Double-Barrel Shotgun from the stand above the bar. They got ready for yet another showdown, but for some reason, this one felt different. Judging by what came next, it was going to be very different.
"Hey in there!" a voice shouted. "If you don't want to end up like your buddy that just got shot, then whoever's leading you fellows better come on out!"

Jesse peered above the bar table. Feeling a little nervous, he decided to go out anyways. After all, he didn't back down from the suits the first time. His brother Frank put a hand on his shoulder, apparently trying to keep his brother from going out. "Jesse, come on man, I don't think this is worth it." said Frank. Jesse calmly took his brother's hand off his shoulder. "Don't worry Frank." said Jesse "We got this one." Then he walked outside into possible danger.
Jesse was immediately greeted by 4 men in suits, just like the ones back at the museum he was in. Two of them had guns just like the guys at the museum, while another was holding a gun of some sort that he couldn't identify. The strangest weapon that he saw was a polished piece of wood with a handle carved into the bottom. After a few seconds, another suited man came walking out from an alleyway across the street, smoking a cigarette. After a strong puff of smoke, the man dropped the cigarette, and flattened it with his shoe.
"Terribly sorry about your friend back there." the Man said. "He looked crazy, and one of my boys just had to put him down."
"A likely story." Jesse replied sternly. "In any case, who are you?"
The man took off his hat, revealing a small crop of black hair. "Terribly sorry about that." he said. "John Dillinger's the name, then he placed his hat back on. I've come to these parts because you killed somebody I liked."
"Somebody you liked?" Jesse asked. "I don't know what you are talking about."
"Oh, but I think you do." responded Dillinger. "I heard about a gunfight at a museum recently. Lots of blood all over the place, I managed to get in and look around before the cops came a cleaned the place up. I saw the person that I liked dead in a mock jail cell, with a bullet hole right in the middle of his forehead. I followed the trail of blood, then I showed up here."
Jesse now figured out who he was talking about. That didn't help him find an answer about how to get out of his current prediciment.
"So" said Dillinger "Since my buddy is now 6 feet under the earth, I've come looking for a little payback. Since you came out willingly, I figured I'd give you a 5-second head start before my boys decide to fill your body up with lead. If you don't want tp get killed, I'd suggest you start running now."
Not wanting to give his foe any satisfaction, Jesse started running west of the saloon. After 4 seconds, he looked back and saw the suits raising up their guns. Mr. Dillinger took out another cigarette, and lit the tip. He placed the cigarette into his mouth, and waived his men to fire. Just before they could carry out his order, gunfire immediately started coming from the saloon windows. A Double-Barrel Shotgun peered out from cover, and sent a wall of metal fragments right into a suit's chest, sending him ass over teakettle onto the dusty ground.

John and his men immediately ran down two street after the gunshots started coming from the saloon. He and one of his boys went down the west road after Jesse, while his other men went down the north road in case any of the shooters from inside the saloon snuck out.
Jesse kept on running, when he heard Mr. Dillinger and his men running up from behind. He reached into his coat, and pulled out his personal Bowie Knife. He turned around and threw it right at the oncoming attacker. It landed right into the attacker's neck. He stopped running, and tried as hard as he could to pull the blade out. After a few seconds, he dropped to his knees, the fell onto his back, with blood still coming out of the wound.

Jesse didn't have time to grab his knife, as he heard someone running towards him. Luckily, he still had a Colt Revolver on his person, so the loss of his knife wasn't too serious. He ducked into a small alleyway, and heard someone run right past him. What an idiot, Jesse thought to himself. He peeked out from the alleyway to see if the coast was clear, when a hand touched his back. Jesse jumped up, and was relieved to see that it was his brother Frank. "Frank, you nearly got shot." Jesse said. "Sorry about that." replied Frank. "Come on. The rest of the boys got horses ready. We need to leave now!"
Jesse brushed his brother's hand aside. "I'm not leaving yet." Jesse replied. "This just got personal, and I ain't leaving until everyone of them is dead."
Frank let out a big sigh. "Suit yourself." he said. "If you're staying, then I'm staying."
"Thanks Frank." said Jesse, who then moved out from the alley. Frank when back through the saloon, and towards the stable where the rest of the men were getting the horses ready.
Meanwhile, the two men at the stable were getting ready to ride out of town. Jesse's horse and Frank's horse were already setup, and their horses were almost ready. Two of Mr. Dillinger's guys were creeping up behind them. When they were within distance, they started firing off their Tommyguns. A stream of lead came rushing towards the horses, which had the good chance of actually running out of the way. As for the two cowboys tending to the horses, they had no time at all to react. They were filled with so much lead, they could be confused for weights.

The two suits walked over and inspected their kills. The bodies of the cowboys weren't moving an inch after all the bullets went into their bodies. Little did the suits know, that there was one cowboy still alive, and was sneaking up from behind to deliver a little bit of ballistic justice. He was right behind them when he started firing off his colt, hitting one of the suits right square in the back of the head.

Frank, however, wasn't so lucky. As he turned to face the other suit, a gun was raised to hit head. As his life was about to expire, a piece of good fortune, in the form of a noose, wrapped around the suit's neck. Frank noticed that his brother Jesse came to him in the nick of time. The suit dropped his gun, and fought with the noose around his neck. Jesse gripped the rope as hard as he could, and after a particularly violent tug, snapped the suit's neck. A moment later, and the body fell down with a "thump."

Frank holstered his Colt, and walked right over to his brother, who was busy taking the noose off of the suit's neck. Jesse coiled the Lasso up, then put it on a fence post right next to him. Still stunned, Frank managed to get a couple words out for his brother.
"Man, I'm never making fun of that Lasso ever again." spoke Frank.
"It's alright." replied Jesse. "I didn't think it would actually work myself. Good thing I managed to get it around his neck. Otherwise, you would have been a goner!"
Frank's eyes just widened at his brother's last words, but he didn't feel angry. They began to start looking for the horses, they heard a roaring sound of some kind coming towards them. A second later, and the sound was coming from right behind them. Frank turned around, and what looked like a horseless metal wagon coming right at him. He pushed his brother Jesse out of the way, and met the wagon with full force. The impact sent Frank flying down the road, with Jesse running after him to check how he was doing. Seeing his mangled body, Jesse knew that his brother had died a painful death.

Jesse began to cry. His brother Frank was the only family that would follow him through hell and highwater. They fought through the Civil War, and took out his anger out on the Union after the war had ended. Jesse leaned over his brother's body, and cried some more, unaware that somebody was sneaking up behind him. A few seconds later, he would see his brother again, as a piece of cold steel went right into his skull.

Ending Assessment: John Dillinger had better weapons, as well as a superior mindset. With a more modern style of committing crime, he was able to take out the more anarchistic Jesse James.
Strongest Weapon: With 326 kills, John Dillinger's Tommygun is the strongest weapon of this fight.
Weakest Weapon: In contrast, John Dillinger's Stiletto, with just 2 kills, takes the weakest weapon spot.

  1. Um...to be fair, the Bowie Knife is much bigger than the Stiletto, so I feel like that should have gone to the Bowie Knife. Also, really? No Winchester Rifle this time? Why not?
