JSDF vs Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards Weapon Preview

JSDF Weapons
Riot Shield: A simple weapon, yet deadly if used the right way. A Riot Shield is nothing more than a piece of reinforced plastic (usually 2 feet in diameter) in the shape of a rectangle, and one or two handles for gripping the shield. The plastic is almost always clear, so the person behind it can see any incoming objects and deflect them. Some Riot Shields are also reinforced even further to absorb bullets.

Minebea M-9 Submachine Gun: A very curious submachine gun. The M-9 was first given to secondary personnel like tank crews, engineers, and artillery crews in an effort to replace the obsolete M3 Submachine Gun the US had given after WW2. Spec Ops forces within the JSDF also appreciated the gun's small size and fire rate. The M-9 is greatly modeled after the Israeli Mini-Uzi, but with some big differences: the gun has a built in grip in the front, and there's a flash hider on the barrel. The biggest problem with the M-9 is that there is no stock in the back, which greatly limits it's accuracy. Despite the accuracy problem, the M-9 is considered to be a good weapon in the JSDF's arsenal.

Type 89 Assault Rifle: The primary workhorse of the JSDF. The Type 89 has certain elements in common with the AR-18 rifle manufactured by the Armalite Company in the United States. The rifle is a standard gas operated, select fire weapon. It should be noted that the Type 89 has a built in bipod for more accuract shooting when prone, and can be modified to fire rifle grenades, or it can be modified to have a bayonet attached to it for better up close combat

M67 Grenade: Another weapon that was given to the JSDF by the United States, the M67 Grenade is a explosive device that is used by numerous countries all over the world, replacing the M61 grenade of Vietnam era, and the venerable MKII grenade of WW2. The device is filled with Composition B, an explosive material that can be found in a variety of ordinences. When the pin is pulled and the grenade is thrown, a 4 to 5 1/2 fuse burns down, then the device explodes, sending steel shrapnel out to 15 feet. Anyone within the radius will get killed immediately.

Kim Jong Ill's Bodyguards Weapons
AKM Bayonet: Kim Jong Ill's bodyguards prefer to keep their distance when protecting their leader, but when up-close combat is required, then they tend to rely on the bayonet. The blade itself usually measures out to 4 or 5 inches in length. It typically is carried in a scabbard on a bodyguard's side, and when it becomes time to equip it, it's slipped onto the barrel of the gun, and locked into place.

Mini-Uzi Submachine Gun: A weapon commonly found in the hands of terrorists and bodyguards alike. The Mini-Uzi is a more recent gun, having been developed from the original Uzi in 1982 and 1983. The Mini-Uzi is just that, a smaller version of the Uzi. Because of it's smaller size, the Mini-Uzi has a much higher rate of fire than it's parent firearm. The Mini-Uzi has a side-folding stock instead of a stock folding out from the back, and it's smaller size makes it much more concealable.

Type 68 AKM Assault Rifle: Directly descended from the legendary AK-47, the Type 68 AKM Assault rifle is the primary weapon of North Korea. The M in the gun's name means modernized, and distances itself from the older AK-47. The Type 68 AKM has better receivers, better parts, and a variety of other features that make it a more superior gun than it's progenator

RGD-5 Grenade: If the AK-47 is Russia's most plentiful assault rifle, then the RGD-5 Grenade is Russia's most plentiful explosive. Designed back in 1950, the RGD-5 was brought into service in the Russian Army in 1954. Today, the grenade is still being used by many of the Arab states and former allies of the Soviet Union. The grenade itself is filled with 110 grams of TNT, a very famous explosive substance. With a fuse length of 3.2 to 4 seconds, the RGD-5 explodes quickly, sending shrapnel up to 15 to 20 meters, killing anything in it's explosive radius.
