Knights vs Dragons Weapon Preview
Knights
Broadsword: Considered
the
symbol
of
Knighthood,
the
Broadsword
is
a
one-handed,
double-edged
sword,
capable
of
cutting
through
just
about
most
normal
men.
Despite
the
weapon
being
somewhat
light
for
it's
size,
it
still
has
enough
force
behind
it
to
bludgeon
as
well
as
cut.
As
far
as
Dragons
are
concerned,
this
is
one
weapon
that
is
a
threat
to
their
scales.

Lance: When
on
horseback,
nothing
comforted
a
Knight
more
than
a
lance.
Composed
of
a
length
of
wood
(5
to
6
feet
tall)
with
a
metal
cap
at
the
end.
The
rider
would
kick
his
horse
into
high
gear,
aim
the
Lance
at
a
specific
target,
and
plunge
the
weapon
into
the
target.
Against
Dragons,
this
weapon
is
rather
lethal.
However,
since
the
Lance
is
composed
of
wood,
a
blast
of
fire
can
burn
it
to
ashes
in
a
matter
of
seconds.

Composite Crossbow: Good
for
piercing
plate
armor
(or
scales),
the
Arbalest
Crossbow
is
a
light,
two-handed
ranged
weapon
that
didn't
require
a
wench
system
for
cranking
back
the
string
(ala
Steel
Crossbow).
Because
of
it's
ease
of
reloading,
a
shooter
could
get
off
a
volley
of
bolts.
While
smaller
Red
Dragon
might
get
killed,
medium
or
larger
specimens
well
just
get
wounded.

Throwing Axe: Although
not
a
normal
part
of
a
Knight's
arsenal,
a
Throwing
Axe
could
be
a
weapon
picked
up
off
the
battlefield,
or
as
a
component
of
a
treasure
chest.
Throwing
Axes
come
in
a
variety
of
shapes,
but
the
one
thing
they
have
in
common
with
a
normal
axe
is
that
they
can
be
used
up
close
as
well
as
ranged.
Although
it
can
penetrate
a
Red
Dragon's
scales,
the
problem
is
that
it
might
not
kill
said
dragon,
and
said
dragon
might
simply
destroy
it
before
it
touches
him.

Full Plate & Kite Shield: Despite
all
the
weapons
at
his
disposal,
the
Knight
won't
last
a
minute
against
a
Dragon
unless
he's
got
some
heavy
armor
on,
and
his
Full
Plate,
along
with
a
Kite
Shield,
does
the
job
nicely.
With
the
Full
Plate,
you
have
all
the
protection
a
Knight
needs:
A
helmet
to
cover
the
entire
head,
plate
to
cover
the
body,
and
chainmail
to
link
it
all
together.
As
for
the
Kite
Shield,
you
had
a
light-weighted
shield
perfect
for
defending
one's
self
against
a
variety
of
piercing
&
bludgeoning
attacks.
This
will
afford
the
Knight
some
protection,
but
the
weight
of
his
target
might
make
him
a
target
for
a
torrent
of
fire.

Dragons
Dragon Teeth: First
and
foremost
in
a
Red
Dragon's
arsenal
is
his
teeth.
While
they
are
wyrmlings,
they
really
aren't
much
of
a
threat.
However,
as
they
get
older,
the
teeth
grow,
and
become
more
formidible.
The
teeth
of
an
adult
Red
Dragon
are
the
size
of
short
swords,
and
a
colossal
Red
Dragon's
teeth
are
the
size
of
longswords.
Sometimes,
they're
even
the
length
of
bastard
swords
or
greatswords!
When
these
teeth
come
chomping
down
on
a
Knight's
neck
or
other
extremity,
pray
for
him.
Dragon Claws: If
a
Red
Dragon
won't
kill
a
Knight
with
his
teeth,
he'll
use
his
claws
instead.
The
claws
on
his
front
feet
are
more
effective
than
the
ones
in
the
the
back,
where
they're
used
more
for
gripping
the
ground
than
killing.
With
the
front
claws,
a
Red
Dragon
can
swipe
at
dozens
of
Knights,
knock
long
weapons
out
of
a
Knight's
hands,
or
shatter
just
about
any
kind
of
armor
or
weapon
that
they
come
into
contact.
Tail Slap: Although
not
a
Red
Dragon's
favorite
weapon,
his
tail
can
sometimes
be
used
in
battle.
Like
the
flick
of
a
wrist,
a
Red
Dragon
can
suddenly
swing
his
tail
back
and
forth,
sending
Knights
flying
into
walls,
traps,
or
other
deadly
devices.
The
tail
isn't
as
good
as
a
Red
Dragon's
teeth,
claws,
or
breath,
but
it
can
do
in
a
pinch.
Dragon's Breath: Perhaps
the
greatest
weapon
in
the
Red
Dragon's
arsenal,
the
dragon
can
unlease
a
fiery
torrent
from
his
mouth.
When
the
flames
embrace
bare
flesh,
it
will
burn
said
flesh
into
cinders.
If
the
flames
embrace
a
armored
Knight,
he'll
cook
like
beans
in
a
can.
Although
the
Red
Dragon
can
only
breath
fire
every
couple
minutes,
it
is
a
powerful
weapon
that
he'll
use
at
every
opportunity
he
can
get.
Scales & Wings: From
the
time
a
Red
Dragon
is
born,
he
is
covered
in
thin
scales,
and
a
pair
of
feeble
wings
hang
of
it's
back.
Said
scales
and
wings
afford
the
baby
dragon
nothing,
but
as
It
grows
older,
the
scales
become
stronger,
and
the
wings
can
grant
greater
flying
skills.
By
the
time
a
Red
Dragon
becomes
a
great
wyrm,
his
body
has
become
a
pinnacle
of
perfection
among
all
cromatic
dragons:
his
scales
are
a
deep
crimson,
and
his
wings
can
take
him
to
just
about
anything
he
sees.
