WW2 American Marines vs WW2 Russian Red Army

Beginning Analysis: What happens when two Allied Forces fight each other rather than the Axis Powers? Read on to see who...is...deadliest!?

American Marines
Short Range (1): Colt M1911 Pistol
Short Range (2): M1897 Trenchgun
Medium Range: M3 Submachine Gun
Explosive: MKII Grenade

Russian Red Army
Short Range (1): Tokarev TT-33 Pistol
Short Range (2): Double-Barrel Shotgun
Medium Range: PPSH-41 Submachine Gun
Explosive: Russian Stick Grenade

Who Got the Edge
Colt M1911 vs Tokarev TT-33: Both pistols get the edge. The Colt M1911 was a remarkable pistol, and it is still considered to be one of the finest out there. The Tokarev TT-33 is based off of the M1911, and although it isn't in wide use anymore, it is still a powerful gun.

M1897 Trenchgun vs Double-Barrel Shotgun: The Double-Barrel Shotgun gets the edge. Although the Trenchgun holds more shells that the double-barrel, the double-barrel has a greater range, and quicker reload time.

M3 vs PPSH-41: The PPSH-41 gets the edge. This weapon has a greater barrel length (269mm compared to the M3's barrel length of 203mm), greater ammo capacity (can be fed either 35-round curved clips or 71-round drums, where as the M3 can only take 30-round clips), firing rate (900 rounds a minute, compared to the M3's firing rate of 450 rounds a minute), and effective firing range (500 meters, compared to the M3's effective range of 50 meters. Later models of the PPSH-41 would only be able to fire up from 100 meters to 200 meters).

MKII Grenade vs Russian Stick Grenade: The Russian Stick Grenade gets the edge. The Russian's grenade is similar to that of the German's, the only differences were the shorter stick and larger amount of explosive material.

Setup
Stalingrad, Russia. 1945

A group of Russian soldiers had captured a U.S. Marine, and were interrogating him as to why he was so far in the country. It wasn't going very well.

"Now my American friend" said the lead soldier as he was putting a brown glove back on "let's try this again. Why are you here?"

The marine was tied to a flimsy wooden chair. He was slumped back, apparently tired from the beating the Russians had given him. His face was swollen, and he had a black eye on the left side of his face. Despite the injury, he was able to blurt out a small phrase.

"Kiss my American ass, you commie."

The marine was punched in the face yet again. Apparently, his captors didn't like that last comment.

"What are we going to do, Reznov?" asked one of the Russian soldiers. "This American isn't telling us anything. Shouldn't we just shoot him how?"

Reznov raised his hand. "No Chernov. I think he's about the crack. If he doesn't, then yes, we'll shoot him."

While there were discussing as to what they were going to do, a 4 man group of U.S. Marines were sneaking around the back of the building where their brother-in-arms was being held.

They reached the back door, and divided themselves into 2 groups. Two took the left side, and two took the right side. A marine on the left side of the door took out his MKII Grenade, and slowly opened the door. When it was wide enough, he pulled the pin, then tossed the grenade inside. 5 seconds later, the grenade went off, killing a guard that was inside.

Reznov, Chernov, and the two other soldiers inside the interrogation room heard the blast of the grenade, and felt the shockwave. Immediately, Chernov went for his Double-Barrel Shotgun, and went for the back. Reznov put a hand on Chernov's shoulder, stopping his comrade from going further.

"What are you doing, Reznov?" Chernov asked.

"Making sure that you don't do something stupid." Reznov responded. "Besides, I need someone to keep an eye on the prisoner. Mikhail, see who is knocking at our door, and be sure to give him a nice hello."

From the corner of the room, a soldier walked passed them, taking out the Tokarev TT-33 from it's holster, and loaded in a clip. He got to the room where the explosive went off, and the only thing he was able to find was the various body parts of his comrade. Pausing for a moment of silence, he went passed the grisly scene, into the outdoors.

There was a light snow coming down on Stalingrad. It was actually quite nice, but the weather didn't matter. Mikhail looked around to see who threw in the explosive, and the only thing he found was a bunch of footprints in the snow, leading west. He followed the footprints, until he was ambushed by what appeared to be an American Marine. The marine jumped on him from a small alleyway, holding a Colt M1911 in his left hand. He knocked Mikhail to the ground, and the two were grasping at each other's throat. Although he was on the bottom, and losing air fast, Mikhail grasped his Tokarev, and placed it against the marine's temple. A pull of the trigger a second later, and the marine wasn't moving anymore.

Mikhail tossed the corpse aside, and got back up on his feet. He dusted the snow off of his coat, and proceeded towards the building where everyone else was, when he was stopped a "chik-chik" sound. He turned around, and a swarm of buckshot went flying into his face, turning it into something that was best undescribed.

The marine ejected the spent shell from the chamber, then regrouped with the rest of his squad. They were located in an alleyway not far from where their friend was held. After getting their groove back, they proceeded towards the building once again. This time, they just simply went right in instead of standing by the sides of the door.

They passed where the MKII Grenade went off, admiring their handiwork, then into the room where their brother-in-arms was. Despite his condition, he seemed to be beaming at the sight of his friends.

"Damn, I didn't think you guys would make it" the marine said.

"You think we'd leave you behind, Tom?" asked one of the marines.

"Not at all, George." Tom responded. "Just get me untied, and let's get the hell out of here."

George went over to Tom, and began untying the ropes. "Hey, where the the rest of those commies go?" he asked.

"Not sure." responded Tom. "I was knocked out at the time, but I did hear them leave."

As if on cue, a hail of bullets came wizzing through the window. Tom, George, and another marine ducked down in time to avoid getting shot, but the other marine was riddled with bullets. He dropped his gun, then fell to the floor.

The immediately scrambled to the sides of the window that was getting shot through. Tom took the Colt M1911 from his dead friend's body, George readied his M3 Submachine Gun, and the other marine that was with them put a shell back into his M1897. They waited until the gunfire from the Russian stopped, then immediately started firing back from the cover of the ruined interrogation room.

Reznov, Chernov, and their surviving comrade were firing from across the street. Chernov still had his Double-Barrel Shotgun, while Reznov and their comrade were using PPSH-41s to pelt the Americans. Their comrade was a lucky shot, managing to land a few shot into of the the marines hiding behind the wondow, befort getting pelted with bullets himself.

"Jesus Christ!" Tom yelled out. "We shouldn't stick around much longer."

"I'm with you there." responded George. "I got a jeep not far from here. Let's book it!"

Knodding his head in agreement, the two marines made ran out of the room, with gunfire still coming towards them. Meanwhile, Chernov stopped Reznov from firing anymore.

"They left...I think." he said.

"Yes they did." Reznov responded. "Come Chernov, let's hunt these rats down."

The two began trailing the escaping marines, who weren't that far ahead of them. During this chase, Tom and George caught sight of the escape jeep. When they got to it, they both jumped right in, with George in the driver's seat, and Tom in the passengers's. George tried to start the jeep, but it wasn't working. Reznov and Chernov got closer, then the jeep started working. As it was speeding away, Reznov took his Stick Grenade from inside is coat, and tossed it at the jeep. It miraculoulsy landed in the back of the jeep. A second later, the grenade went off, killing the two marines, and causing the jeep to crash into a brick wall.

"There Chernov, that is how you kill rats." said Reznov. "Now come, we got vodka to drink."
