Tomoe Gozen vs Trieu Thi Trinh

Beginning Analysis: What happens when two of Asia's fiercest women go head to head. Read on to see who...is...deadliest?

Tomoe Gozen Quick Bio
In Japan, men were the warriors, not women. However, that didn't stop a rare few from gaining fame by the sword, and Tomoe Gozen was one of these women. A late 12th century concubine of Minamoto no Yoshinaka, there is actually little known about her, and some scholars consider Tomoe to be a fictional character. What little is known, besides a few historical documents & stories, is this piece taken from "The Tale of the Heike", an account of the Genpei War of the late 12th century:

"Tomoe was especially beautiful, with white skin, long hair, and charming features. She was also a remarkably strong archer, and as a swordswoman she was a warrior worth a thousand, ready to confront a demon or a god, mounted or on foot. She handled unbroken horses with superb skill; she rode unscathed down perilous descents. Whenever a battle was imminent, Yoshinaka sent her out as his first captain, equipped with strong armor, an oversized sword, and a mighty bow; and she performed more deeds of valor than any of his other warriors."

Short Range: Katana
Medium Range: Naginata
Long Range: Yumi

Trieu Thi Trinh Quick Bio
Trieu Thi Trinh was the fiercest woman to ever grace Vietnam. In the 3rd century AD, she successfully & temporarily managed to resist the Kingdom of Wu, one of the 3 states in China that were trying to take control. There are some conflicting accounts on Trieu, considering that there are Chinese documents and Vietnamese documents. Regardless, she was a highly skilled warrior who even managed to impress her Chinese enemies. As she once said to her brother:

"I only want to ride the wind and walk the waves, slay the big whales of the Eastern sea, clean up frontiers, and save the people from drowning. Why should I imitate others, bow my head, stoop over and be a slave? Why resign myself to menial housework?"

Trieu Thi Trinh Weapons
Short Range: Jian
Medium Range: 3-Section Staff
Long Range: Chakrum
Special: Katar

Who Got the Edge
Katana vs Jian:  The Katana gets the edge. Although the Jian had two edges and can basically do about the same damage as a Katana, the Katana has a much longer blade, and can completely cut through human bodies if enough force is used. Coupled with increased durability, this sword can last much longer in battle than the bronze or iron Jian.
Naginata vs 3-Section Staff:  The 3-Section Staff gets the edge. Both of these weapons are about the same length, but with the 3-Section Staff, just about every part of it can be used as a striking area. The weapon also has the advantage & disadvantage of being somewhat chaotic, considering that small lengths of chain hold everything together.
Yumi vs Chakrum:  The Yumi gets the edge. With the Chakrum, you have a large (even though it's still rather small) weapon that can fly through the air at impressive speeds, managing to get neck-slicing kills. With an arrow fired from the Yumi, it moves at even faster speeds, and can hit specific targets much better. Even the eyes are up for grabs, which some archers went for.
Fan Knife vs Katar:  The Katar gets the edge. The Fan Knife is definately good for stealthy reasons, but the blade is small, and it's gripped in your hand. The Katar is much longer, and fits over the hand like a gauntlet, allowing for bone-breaking blows.

Common Quality
Legendary Females: Both these warriors were some of the most powerful women in existance. For Tomoe Gozen, her skill in battle and fierce beauty allowed her to rise above the male-dominated culture of Japan during that time. She was so impressive, she is considered to be one of Japan's warrior saints. Trieu Thi Trinh is an equally legendary women. She was able to resist one of the most powerful territories in China, and having a description of being 9 feet tall and having 3 foot long breasts helps out too, but for completely different reasons.

Setup
It was a nice day on the sea. The breeze was pleasant, and didn't carry much in the way of salt. As the sun was moving in the sky, it's rays illuminated the water, as well as one little rowboat that was moving along at a quick pace. Inside the boat was Tomoe Gozen, one of the rarest & strongest female warrior every to grace the landscape of Japan. A few days ago, an anonymous letter was sent to her, issuing a challenge of a fight to the death. So, she gathered some weapons, headed out to a nearby port, and began rowing towards what the locals called Pingshin Island. The place was notorious for warriors who settled disputes, and more often than not, the sand was as red as the blood of the living.
Tomoe finally arrived at the island. Her boat slid up onto the beach, and she set the oars inside the craft. She got right out of the vehicle, and picked up her weapons: a Katana that was slung onto her side, a Yumi that was put onto her back, and a Naginata that was said to have cut down 100 men. In actuality, there was one final weapon, but she hid it inside her clothes so her anonymous opponent wouldn't know it's there.
Tomoe began walking along the sandy beach. The island itself was quite peaceful, as the ocean water went over her feet, and the trees were swaying peacefully in the breeze. A few seabirds could be seen flying in the distance, and their cawing could be heard all the way from the island. As she turned to her left, she could see a little hermit crab crawling along the sand, looking for it's next shell to call home. Alas, such a gentle scene couldn't stay peaceful for long.
As Tomoe continued to walk along the beach, a metal ring wizzed past her face. It left a small cut, and a trickle of blood started coming out. Tomoe felt the wound, then began looking around for whoever it was that threw the ring. It didn't take long for her to see a large woman walking towards her. Man, she's huge, Tomoe thought to herself. She's got to be 8, no, 9 feet tall! And her chest, man they're large! They definately gotta make her back hurt something fierce!
"Are you Tomoe Gozen?" the tall woman asked.
Tomoe drew her Yumi, and prepared an arrow. "Yes I am." she replied. "Who might you be?"
"I am Trieu Thi Trinh!" the woman said proudly, smacking her fist to her chest. The shockwave from the impact caused her massive chest to jiggle for a moment. Tomoe was jealous for some odd reason. Her rather large opponent continued to speak.

"I've heard of your exploits from my homeland, and I must say, I'm quite impressed. I've come to challenge my skills against someone who I considered to be my equal."
Tomoe raised her bow. "I'm quite flattered." she replied, letting loose the arrow at the same time. It wizzed right past Trieu's head, cutting off a few hairs. "However, you damanged my lovely face, and I'm afraid that I have to kill you now."
"That's fine by me." replied Trieu. The two women drew their swords, and charged right at each other. When the swords collided, they unleashed a loud clang that probably was heard from just about every part of the island. As the Katana clashed against the Jian, both women could feel something. Whether it was a kindred spirit or it was the essence of their blades drawing energy out, they weren't sure.
After a few minutes, Tomoe managed to get a blow in on Trieu's stomach. It wasn't a deep blow, as it was actually more of scratch. It must have been a very painful scratch, as her opponent lept backwards to examine the wound.
"I'm actually impressed with you as well." said Tomoe, who was starting to breath a little heavily.
"Thank you." Trieu replied. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you impressed with me?"
Tomoe paused for a moment, then spoke. "Simply because you're really tall, and yet you move around like a nimble house cat."
"I've never thought of myself that way." said Trieu. "I guess I'll take that into consideration."
The two women went back to their sword fighting. At this point in time, they expended a fair amount of energy. However, neither didn't want to show it, since their lives were on the line. They kept battling one another, until Tomoe spotted a small opening in her opponent's sword technique. With a particular swing, she knocked out her opponent's Jian, and sent the blade flying into the bushes. Trieu looked back, and saw a very determined look on her opponent's face. Seeing as this was the right opportunity, Trieu decided to run. Quickly sheathing her Katana, Tomoe picked up her Naginata, and gave chase.
A few minutes later, and the two women arrived at a rocky part of the beach. Tomoe though her opponent was unarmed, but Trieu drew forth a 3-Sectioned Staff from deep within her clothing. It suprised Tomoe, as the weapon almost hit her face. She deflected the attack with her Naginata, knocking back the section of wood. It's been a while since I've seen one of these, Tomoe thought to herself. I guess it's time for me to get a little creative.
The two women then got back to fighting. The sea at this section of the beach was a little rougher, as larger waves came crashing against the rocks, and sprayed salty water all over the place. It didn't bother Tomoe or Trieu in the least, since both warriors were so intensly concentrated on each other. Trieu, wanting to be a bit on the offensive, started spinning around and around. This kept Tomoe at bay, as the 3-Sectioned Staff that Trieu was using created a impressive safe zone. Tomoe tried to thrust her Naginata into the swiring circle of Trieu's attack, but all it did was break the weapon into to. As the bladed end went into the ocean, all that she was left with was a portion of the handle.
Tossing it aside, Tomoe just simply grabbed the section of the staff that was closest to her, and Trieu stopped spinning. The two women were engaged in a fierce tug of war contest. Since her opponent was so tall, Tomoe thought for certain that Trieu would win. So it came as a suprise to her when she actually managed to pull the sectioned staff out of her opponent's hand. She tossed it into the ocean, just as Trieu slipped a Katar onto her right hand. Tomoe looked back, and saw her opponent charging towards her. Tomoe stepped to the side, and flipped her opponent right onto her back.
Slighty stunned, Trieu got back up to her feet, and wiped some of the sand from her clothes. When she faced Tomoe again, she saw that her opponent held a fan in her hand, and started laughing. When Tomoe pulled out a hidden knife, Trieu stopped laughing. Huh, didn't see that coming, she said.
The two women were starting to run on fumes. They still kept their eyes on each other, but their ability to fight was starting to lower. Regardless, they slashed and stabbed at one another with giving the other any inch. Tomoe, usually capable of concentrating on a battle without getting distracted, somehow didn't noticed her opponent's next attack. The Katar began going into Tomoe's side, but the pain from that attack sharpened her right back up. She grasped Trieu's right arm, and took a stab at it. Trieu clutched the would, then went back on the offensive. She came in close again, and Tomoe stabbed at her stomach. Keeping her hand over the wound, Trieu went back in for one last attack. Wanting to end this quickly, Tomoe brought her knife right down on Trieu's head. Trieu stopped right in her tracks, and fell onto the sandy ground.
"Man, what a waste of perfectly good breasts." a tired Tomoe said.
