Mohawk Indian vs Samoan Warrior Weapon Preview

Sorry about the wait. I wasn't able to post anything new, cause my main computer went down the tanker. Now that it's back up, it's time to start things up again. Here's a look at the weapons used in my first ancient fight of this season, where a intimidating Mohawk Indian fights a savage Samoan Warrior.

Mohawk Indian Weapons
Mohawk Knife: When settlers first encountered the Mohawk tribe, they also encountered their vicious knife fighting skills. The knives that the Mohawks first used weren't made out of metal (until they took metal from the settlers), but of bone & stone (usually some kind of obsidian). Regardless of what the blade was made out of, it was usually 5 or 6 inches longer, which allowed it to go in and out of bodies rather quickly. Mohawk Indians also threw their knives at their targets, as they rarely missed their targets.

Pipe Tomahawk: A item of peace as well as an item of war, the Pipe Tomahawk is one of the most recognizable weapons in the hands of the Mohawks. The construction of the weapon is rather simple: a hallowed stick with a cap at the end, a sharpened axe head, and a bowl on the other side of the axe head to place the item to be smoked. The Indian in question takes off the cap, places tobacco or something else in the bowl, lights the smoking item, and takes a puff at the cap end of the weapon. A very useful multitasker indeed.

Mohawk Bow & Arrow: The Mohawks were masters of the bow, as they spent years hunting prey and defending themselves from their enemies. The bow they used was a D-style bow, which allowed the user to put his strength into each of his shots. It was smaller, thus giving the user a lighter yet deadlier weapon. Mohawk Indians had also developed a variety of arrows to be used with the bow, from flint arrows that would break up inside their targets, or rusted metal arrows that would create infectious wounds.

War Club: If you were up close with a Mohawk Indian, and he didn't have a knife, then he would have had this weapon. Although it never was made out of metal, that didn't mean it wasn't a deadly weapon. The club was made out of a single piece of wood, and the striking area was a polished orb. All it took was one blow to the head, and a human target would go down in an instant.

Samoan Warrior Weapons
Fa'alaufa'l War Club: Much like the Maori's that populated New Zealand, the weapons of the Samoan were made of wood, stone, and bones of some kind. This club in particular was especially deadly, due to it's design. The main striking area of the club was the rigid middle area, although it was possible to use the pointed end sort of like a dagger.

Samoan Throwing Spear: More commonly known as the Tala-o-le-lo, this was a weapon that was very feared among those who knew of it. Like the Mohawk's War Club, this weapon was made entirely from wood. The spear was composed of two sections: the grip, and damaging area, which was covered in sharp edges. The spear would go into a target nice and smooth, but if the thrower or the target were to try and pull it out, the spear would cause more damage because of the edges cutting up the internal organs.

Samoan Bow & Arrow: Called a Aufana, this weapon was important during the hunt or war time. Created from fisoa wood, the Samoans had a bow that was light, yet allowed them to easily puncture targets. The bow was often decorated with a piece of the bow's braid, which was spiraled around the entire weapon. This enhanced the Aufana's appearance, and sometimes managed to intimidate anyone in front of it.

Olo Moe: Made from Vesi wood, this was a devastating weapon in the hands of the Samoans. 18 inches in length, the Olo Moe was often used to bring back prisoners, as the club would break bones and not cause much bleeding. The club, much like the one used by the Mohawks, was a solid piece of wood, and it would fly through the air with impressive speed.

    1. Thank You!

I'm surprised that people still put messages on this blog, considering SpikeTV basically screwed the show over for Reality TV schlock.

Also, I swear to god I'll finish up the fights I have left!

    1. Samoans have supernatural reflexes and are very fast

    2. All native cultures that had weapons of war had martial arts techniques. But battles aren't won by the fighting style or weapons(though it may help) but the warrior.
